No, since all they really want is your money - thay don't want to be similar in order to offer "diverse" services, thus appealing to thei "niche" market.

I think so - I think they would all agree that there is a divine energy that powers this existence. They might call it different things, but they will all way yes if you ask them "is there a divine energy that powers this existence?"
I personally think that all organized religions have core principals that are very similar - the divine energy thing, the concept that love is the strongest force in this existence and they all provide information of what happens after death (and many of them are different routes to the same place it seems - minus the cultural differences).
I think this is a great question and I think more folks should be thinking along these lines if we, as a species, are going to survive.
Peace!

No, there is not. Religion, as you are referring to it, is a system of beliefs, and different beliefs are just that - different beliefs!
If you asked, for instance, "all Christian religions" then that would be different. But Hinduism with it's many gods, Buddhism with its no personal god, even Satanism is considered to be a religion. So there is no way they could all have a basic underlying principle in common.
I would not belong to a religion that will take my money. No way! However when I truly believe in something, then I support it voluntarily and happily with my money. ' without any pressure.

They all believe there is God. They take some of your money to for their church to grow, continue and survive. If by any chance you become prosperous by joining them, they get lucky for increasing your donation. Masses and services differ from denomination to denomination but surely there is always a collection part. There are even some major churches I know that announces your inability to give tithings and would even mock you by saying, "you might have been cursed." They each will say that you will go to hell if you do not belong to them and will be in heaven if you choose them. Whoever is them will tell you the same.

Yeah, a Supreme being of some kind... that's about it. Many religions do share Ideas about that christian's trinity (father, son, holy spirit, together forming God) but each member of the trinity has been harshly altered depending on the religion.

The golden rule: treat others like you would want to be treated. All the great philosophers, teachers and prophets taught this.
There are more, but this is the most important one to start with.

well all , with the exception of 1 teaches that mankind is basically good.
the exception of course is christianity which teaches that mankind is sinful, and prone to it.
which matches more with reality when you take a look at the world around us???

I think that all religions believe in living your life well, being a good person, and treating others as well as you would treat yourself. But i don't think they all have one main SPIRITUAL belief.
