First of all, the total calories you consume versus the amount you burn is the only factor in maintaining weight. If you get enough activity each day while consuming an adequate but not excess amount of calories then it doesn't matter WHEN you eat them. However, if you are always snacking at bed time after doing "good" all day, then I would question what it is you are eating during the day. Is your intake during the day adequate or do you try to "starve" yourself all day? Is the bed time snacking a habit that accompanies something else, like watching TV? If so, you can change the habit of watching TV, OR change the snacks that you do eat, to something more healthy.

Have grapes at 7 to beat the cravings for sweets. Don't eat just before sleeping. It won't help you sleep. Drink a lot of water. At the risk of going to the toilet in the night, at least you'll be too full to snack. Maybe a nice hot drink like milo or milk.

Exercise is always good. Increases your basal metabolic rate so you burn more even when resting.

It's funny, sleep actually burns calories too.

Hope that helps.

Yes, you burn calories every second your alive.Your entire body, except your bones need energy to carry on. How many would depend on several factors, height, weight, age, and the amount of muscle a person has. That's why bodybuilding is one of the best ways to lose weight, it burns calories while working out, afterwards to repair and replenish the muscle and 24/7 to keep the muscle alive.

whole grain cereal is one of the better things to eat a couple of hours before bed because it slowly digest while you sleep and causes your metabolism to work at a higher lever...and a higher metabolism means more calories burned. but the best way to burn calories while sleeping is to strength train during the day. strong muscles consume more calories and energy to repair and maintain from daily workouts...and all this repair takes place at night while you're sleeping

don't snack before bed.

the most calories are burnt up in your sleep. the body works pretty hard when you're snoring away.

that's also when the liver works up a storm in producing cholesterol... that's why they say take your statins before bedtime.

:D

weigh yourself before bed.. then when ya wake up weigh yourself again. there'll be a difference. i lose up to 6lbs a night. of course putting most of that back on during the day. (about half of that is water weight and other waste material)

break the habit by eating right ( www.mypryamid.gov ) and just don't eat after 7pm. it's also not good for you to eat much if anything after 7.

just stop. it's a must.

Take up weight training. It burns calories even if your body is at rest. If you must snack at night choose healthy, low calorie snacks. Are you eating enough during the day so you won't need to snack at night?

Mmm... eat low calorie snacks like celery and carrots.
Or exercise before bed butt that will give you energy so it might be a bad idea.

I do the same thing, what I found works best for me is to flex my abs while I'm laying and snacking. It keeps me from over eating, plus I'm working out all at once! Also, try doing the upside-down Superman, lay on your back, raise your feet a few inches off the ground, and raise your head to the same level, and try to keep the rest of your body straight and on the ground; then hold that position for as long as you can. It puts stress on your abs and streches them.
Hope it helped!
