If they feel the US is threatening them, yes they will. Bush's incursion into other nations has scared the pants off of many countries and you know what happens when people get scared. Bribes and threats won't work this time. People must talk and find a way to mend fences now.

They don't have the capacity to use those nukes, they can't reach the US yet. That ICBM test was pathetic, the thing lasted a few seconds in the air before crashing. What people don't realise is that Kim Jhong Il is afraid of us! That's why he has the nukes, he's a mosquito in a large international world, he's got a small penis, and it makes him feel better to have something that looks like a larger penis. He knows if he launches one of those anywhere, that it gives us right to actually do something about it. People don't need to be afraid of North Korea, it's a jelly stain on the map that wants to have some power, we've got bigger problems, like the fact that our domestic policies move closer and closer to socialism every day thanks to the democrats and closer to theocracy every day thanks to the republicans, and there's no one with the either the balls or the wisdom to step up and call for fundamental reforms about the way the government goes about itself, and I'm underage. As far as international policy goes, we've got more important things to worry about than Korea as well, such as whether or not the queen uses toilet paper that was made in America.

Yeah! Good question. But it has two sides of it.
From North Korean perspective, it is right. Now no country, including US dare to attack North Korea, what ever be the reason, as they are a nuclear powered. They had traditionally many enemies - South Korea and West. Now they feel confident that no external power will try to destabilize the current rule.

From other side, we feel it is not correct as the kind of rulers with Nuclear power may become over ambitious, leading to unstability of the neighboring countries etc.

Why do countris go nuclear? You must address that. India went Nuclear way back in 1970s to show the world that they have advanced technologies. Pakistan went nuclear as they are traditional rivals to India.

Why North Korea went Nuclear now? Probably they feared that US will attack them some time as Bush was talking about Iran, Cuba and North Korea. Now Iran will look forward. Then only Cuba is left for Bush to invade!

All the best guys!

I don't believe the North Koreans leaders are foolish as you think, the foolish nation shall be the Americans. Why the Americans shall not abandone their Nuclear Weapons together with the British, Russians, French, Chinese, the Israel, Indians, and Pakistans? They should abandoned and destroy all their Nuclear possesions and declare into the World that they are no longer possessing this WMD and making this WORLD A NUCLEAR FREE?
If Americans possesses this WMD and not allowing others to have it , it shall be unfair, unjust and biases..
I am in favor to adopt or develop this nuclear weapons by smaller and weaker countries not only for the Koreans (North) but to all others for self defense purposes and not for using against other nations for aggression.
The only reason why we are facing troubles, chaos and man made calamity like wars beacuse of these American manipulaitons to sponsoring warring countries so she can sell it's weapons, bombs, and machines.
The reasons why severals extremists go out in open were to avenge and answer to unjustices and biases the Americans committed to these nations and other countries.

If foolish is equal to desperate, then the answer is yes.

History just might be repeating itself. Japan struck the U.S. at Pearl Harbor as a pre-emptive move towards waging war by first defeating the United States, then taking on China, to obtain China's natural resources that were being denied to them through economic embargo's.

North Korea now might be in the same boat. However, I hope that they have sense enough to know that if they use one nuclear weapon in anger, they would invite the unholy fiery wrath of the U.S., China, France, Russia and many others.

NO
the media is just trying to make more money
It is bad for any country to have nukes but anybody who knows anything will tell you it is 80% beat up ,19% threat and a 1% chance something will happen

It doesn't appear that N.Korea is capable of launching a missile that really works, nor does it appear that the nuclear test they attempted last week worked, either! Having said that, it looks like they may be making yet another attempt at setting one off.

I'm curious to how long we will wait until we've had enough of this psychotic dwarf and his band of lemmings, threatening the world. It seems to me, the humane thing is to destroy the sons of bitches, now! Why wait until they're ready? It's not as though they will wait to strike, once there stuff really works.

Yes they are. They hate the USA, its in their culture. They even teach hate of America to their school kids. I feel the leader of North Korea is very low on the scale of human integraty.

So they've got the nukes, but not the delivery systems? Just how close is the co-operation between China and NK?

Yes. Their leader only cares about the destruction of the Western world.
