Try looking at a wedding on the banks of a river with a barbeque to follow. We did this and had a wonderful day. The wedding part was still very formal (I was taken to the wedding by rowboat) and the reception was so relaxed and informal that everyone had a great time.

I just catered my brother-in-laws wedding and hired servers to set-up, serve and clean-up and it went very well. If you want to cater your own wedding because you prefer your food, I would recommend cooking things that can be prepped ahead of time and then you can have your servers reheat or heat up the day of the wedding.

Don't know where you live, but in EastBay California I found Montclair Staffing whom I found through directcatering.com. directcatering.com helps you to locate caterers in your area whom in return can put you in contact with your needs. Just be really clear as to what you need and make sure they know you DO NOT need food.

You can also go to your local party rental company who may be able to recommend a staffing service. The place I used charged $25 and hour per person.

Good luck as these staffing agencies are hard to find. The one I used over 7 years ago went out of business unfortunately because there was not enough interest.

I was the best man to a friend's wedding where he did his own catering, music, venue (his home), etc. I suggest getting a reputible professional since you don't want to have to worry about something going wrong.

I appreciate that you want to do your own catering, but as a caterer, how will you get to enjoy your day? hire it out or have friends you can count on do it for you.
