I've had that exact thought!!! I wonder if, when I go to the bathroom, if I'm really using a diaper in a hospital bed or a catheter and if the people I know would cease to be when I awoke or if they would still exist just not as I know them. I thought I was the only one that wondered that same thing!!

If you are able to get out of bed and do normal everyday activities, but at the sasme time not remebering what you have done through the day or only able to respond about 80-90% of the day. This is not a coma this is more likely a sign of panic attacks, depression, bipolar, or even worse seizures. There are so many different types of seizures, so I would suggest before seeing a Psychiatrist to see a neurologist. Neurologist study about the brain and can tell you whether you need to see some else and what is really going on!

A coma is a serious contition and has nothing to do with sleep you are unconscious and will not respond to sounds voices etc. your brain is at it lowest stage of alertness . coma are cause by different things including severe injury to the head, seizure even infections involving the brain, strokes, drug over dosed.
So no !! you are not in a coma at this time.

You can somewhat do that, some people have certain, dreams i guess, stimulated by things that they may hear. It's true that they can hear you when in a coma. It's just as though, they can't quite find their way home yet.

Thats a question that has it's roots in philosophy but psychology has adopted it with several variations...including yours. The most common psych question relating to this would be the "schizophrenic dilema"....this asks the question of whether schizophrenics are actually more intuned than the rest of us and they actually hear inner thoughts....like mediums or other psychics. I remember reading that there are indigenous peoples in South America who actually believe that while they sleep...thats real and while awake they exist on another plane. All is something to ponder....good question.

i've been in a coma.. and no coma is way different and more miserable..like being in jello, trying to communicate.. but no one knows you're there..

and you can't breathe... and you need to touch someone and you think you can but you really can't and no one knows what you are trying to do and can't do.

no one realizes that you know the world exists... but they say you can't possibly think that because you're in a coma and then they try to tell everyone how it is.. which it isn't. then they try to make decisions for you but you can do that yourself but they can't hear you nor see you trying.. you just lay there trapped.

it's hell...

no you're not in a coma.

Wow, just when I thought life couldn't get any worse, it sucks twice as bad, one in reality where I'm lying comatose somewhere, another where I'm leading a mediocre existence only in my head. Can I not at least be rich and famous if I'm just dreaming?

If I commit suicide in this life, but I'm actually in a coma, does that mean I'd die, or I'd only THINK that I did?

It is possible but why try to expalin it. I have though about it but that would make meaningless if we were in a coma.

I really think this is a bad question, but I'm bored so I am going to answer your question. Do you really think you would be in coma and typing in your computer? If you're answer is yes, than you have a problem, check with your phsychitrist fast!!
