I don't eat at McDonald's. That's nasty. Besides, I'm a grad student.
The question is, how do we feed the children in Africa? Give our money to a corporation with no real idea how it will be spent? I don't really have extra money, but I volunteer my time regularly--be it heading to New Orleans to build houses or simply knitting sweaters and blankets to hand out at the local shelter. I do what I can, because I believe this is right. I would like to see all people do what they can.

So Atheist are the only people who eat at McDonalds...WOW...Where is your proof of such a ignorant claim...Hate to break it to you but there is no cure for stupid and I don't think God will even want to cure u of it ....That's interesting because last week My mother in laws church youth group ate at McDonald's on there way home from a trip...isn't that money supposed to go to god and Africa....why do they spend their money on such luxuries instead of giving to the church, and Africa....You are very much shallow
Although, u never directly said only atheist eat at McDonald u insinuated it..if u are looking for a good debate use a better example this really sucks...I'm not a atheist i just have a low tolerance for stupidity...come on why don't u actually challenge yourself to think for once..
Why are u religiously against atheism anyway.....shouldn't judgment be up to your god or something

Doesn't the Bible say to give everything you own to the poor? Yeah, I'm pretty sure Jesus said that a lot. So if you don't, and still claim to follow Jesus, and point out other parts of the Bible as true but ignore this one, that makes you a hypocrite.
But since we, as atheists, don't believe in the Bible or Jesus, we can do whatever we want with our money. Sure, I donate to charities. But I don't consider McDonalds a luxury either.

Uh, why is this question only directed at us? So there is some unspoken rude assumption of us, I assume? Like some little factoid you're trying to "prove" to yourself to legitimize what you believe we are?
1. I hate McDonalds
2. I rarely waste money on fast food anyhow
3. I am still stuck at my parents house at the moment as I couldn't afford a cardboard box to live in, so therefor I am not spending money on any of these "luxuries." I have no EXTRA dollars. Do you really think we're all rich? Most of us can't technically afford luxuries these days, nor do we need them.
4. Are you not aware that there are starving and dying children right here in the U.S. (assuming you are here)? Why is it that no one cares about OUR own people here?

I'm not an Atheist, and I don't eat at McDonald's. But I just thought I would point out that McDonald's is hardly a luxury! It is probably one of the cheapest places you can eat. But I understand what you are trying to say.

Since a majority of Africa is Islamic, what is Islam doing to help fight hunger there? Wouldn't it be more prudent to spend less money on bombs, AK47s, training terrorists, paying for them to come to England or America so they can blow up things and instead do something useful and put the Christian nations to shame!
Why don't the weathly Islamic nations throw some of that oil money into Africa!

I don't eat at McDonald's, its lousy food. I do give to the poor and needy. Don"t assume things.
For Christians though it says in the bible that your supposed to give everything up, all your material possession's to the poor and needy. Hence if your a true Christian how come you don't follow that? A computer is a luxury so you shouldn't have one!

Actually if anything, there are probably more Christians than atheists that eat at McDonald's. Atheists are logical and critical thinkers, so they realize that if they eat at Mc Donald's all the time, they are going to become quite fat. Christians just eat there, get fat, and then claim that this is how god made them, or wanted them to be, or else god would interfere.
I don't eat at Mc Donald's. I wake up at 4:45 in the morning to work out. My diet consists mostly of low-sugar protein powder, oat bran, whole-wheat tortilla's, low fat cheese, chicken breast, etc.
While there are starving children in Africa, there are plenty of people in need here. I just participated in a run in which the money was donated to charity, and I give people on the street who are starving HERE food, or a couple dollars, when I have it on me, despite the fact that I owe over $28,000.00 in student loans for graduate school. I help out in whatever way I can.
Don't try and beat those of us who are agnostic/atheist. We are more educated as a whole than Christians.
P.S. I'm not for accusing Christians of anything. In general I find Christians look down on me because I'm not Christian - but that doesn't mean ALL of them do that. I think if religion and church works for you and enriches your life, then go for it! Just don't think that it will do the same for everyone. We are all different. Just like one diet doesn't work for all people, one way of looking at spirituality and practicing it doesn't work for all people either.

I'd rather eat dog crap than eat at McDonald's. Atheists don't make a big deal of volunteering their time or resources - they just do it because it's the right thing to do. I presume you are a theist - am I to also assume that YOU don't spend discretionary income on yourself at all or that YOU give every extra penny to good causes?
Because I truly doubt that very much.

in simple terms for the reason which you're actually not conscious of atheist charities or because of the fact atheist do not convey mutually as a collection so anybody can see them contributing to a physically powerful reason, would not advise that atheists do not supply. heavily, in case you stop and picture approximately your question for a minute, you're able to see in simple terms how stupid it quite is. under is a itemizing of atheist/secular charities. it quite is been stated many cases on R&S, that the persons here do make a contribution to the two community and international charities, the version, of direction, is we do it because of the fact it quite is a physically powerful ingredient and to not teach others how "stable" we are. Edit: And sure, traditionally Christian investment of charities in different countries has customarily contain the fee tag of spreading your faith.
