The President of the US (at least) claims to be a Evangelical Christian. Look at some of the responses to my last question:

Most fundamentalists wackos WANT the end of the world to come. Are these really the kind of people we want in charge of military/political decisions?

They would think it's a good thing to hasten wars, and set the stage for future wars.

Many people wonder on this furom why so many athiests/agnostics and skeptics try to show religious people that their religious views have no basis in logic, fact or morality is for this very reason.

We live in a Democracy and you guys voted those nuts into power.

It must be shown to them that there is no more basis for believing the word of the Bible than there is of the Koran or fairytales or stories of Apollo.

I think it is the best thing to happen for our country to have a man who is one of morale's and christian character...there is lot said for a man of prayer.....I cringe at the thought of someone who doesn't pray getting into office , then we are in real trouble......
and you ought to know that the end times are NOT going to happen until God allows it to happen...man can not do anything to bring this on until God says it is time...when will you see that God is truly in control....

You have misunderstood the position of evangelical christians. They do not want to start the end of the world themselves.
They are are aware of the bible prophecies about end times and know that God will bring it to an end one day.

There is a big difference.

That's a slip of the tounge. He's famous for that.

He was actually trying to tell you the Magic Christian was his favorite movie.

He's a big fan of Thomas too. He's really into Ringo.

The Evangelicals know that God is in control.
The others like to run from trouble, want everyone to like them, want the government to take care of them instead of their neighbor, and lie at chappaquidick and other places. I wonder if Marilyn Monroe committed suicide?
