Huskies were born to run! Have you ever seen the sled dog competitions? These dogs need to get out and run. They need tremendous amounts of exercise because they were bred for endurance. They're also very intelligent so they like a change of scenery. Intelligent dogs, like people, are easily bored. You should read up on the breed for more insights. Meanwhile, take them out where they can run. If you have a yard, put up a fence and play with them out there. Huskies can go at a steady pace for hours on end, so I hope you're in good shape!

Its true what others have said about huskies just loving to run, by the time they stop they can be miles away (not too bright). I had two that escaped for 12 hours & when they came home they stank, seems they must have found a dead cow or roo to roll in. It took 5 baths over 3 weeks to get rid of it.
If you walk them at the same time of the day every day they will learn to wait for it & not be so keen to escape but given a chance they will always take it even if its just after that walk.
Tall fences, strange gates & a concrete trench under the fences tends to slow them down, good luck.

You say 5 hours of attention, but what does that mean? Petting them? Or working with them? Huskies have been bred as working dogs, to pull sleds at high speeds. They want to RUN, and they want to run a lot. If you're not taking them on longs walks or jogs, or giving them somewhere to run (like a dog park) to stretch their legs out, they'll never be happy.
Try harnessing them to a wagon and teaching them to pull it (or a sled if it's snowing out)... dogs instinctively want to do the work they were bred for, it makes them happy and allows them to feel fulfilled.

everybody that ive ever known who kept huskies said the same thing, seems like they are notorious for running off or escaping. maybe they just like to run, and maybe thats why they make good sled dogs

huskies are bred to run and run. that is what they do. they love their home and their family, but they run because it is in their blood. that's why they make such good sled dogs.
you can try giving them more exercise so they are tired and happy to stay home. you shouldn't let them run loose, they could get hit by a car or eat something poisonous.
always research a breed before you decide to live with it!!
