I just got out of a 4 year relationship and it is still very rough. my ex constantly calls and wants to know where i am at, what i am doing, and he gets very angry and threatens to do bad things. in the meantime, i am constantly being asked by guys to hang out or go out on dates or if they can have my phone number, and i am not ready for any other relashinships. How do i tell a guy they cannot have my phone number or that i am not interested in hanging out??

I think you just answered your own question. Just tell them how you feel and if they want to give their phone number or even an email address would be better. Tell them politely that you not ready for dating or hanging out and maybe you can communicate by email, which by the way is a whole lot easier than exchanging phone numbers. I recently changed my approach to girls that I was interested in by telling them "hey, I think you're cute and I would like to get to know you better. Here's my email address and if you're interested drop me a few lines at your convenience". I'm basically giving them the option of contacting me and if they don't then I move forward. It seems to work for me. As far as your ex is concerned I would be careful about that. Don't let him control you and tell him to stop badgering you or you will file a restraining order against him.

Sorry you cannot have my phone number & I am not interested in hanging out? I just got out of a 4 year relationship and it is still very rough. Be honest that is the best way.

be honest with them and it's okay to take time out for yourself and tell them how you really feel. I haven't dated a guy for a year and I'm not ready to be in a relationship just yet, it's quite alright to take time for yourself. There is no need to rush. As far as your ex, I wouldn't talk to him, change your phone no, block him out of e-mail. I dated a guy like that and let me tell you all your ex wants is control and he had it and now he lost it, and it's not your fault, Your ex needs to get over himself and go to anger management and u can live without him girlfriend.:O) There is a guy who is a gentleman and the relationship will be much more healthier.

I would be very honest and just tell them that you're not ready for anything remotely heavy, that you just got out of a long relationship and you are taking some "me" time. It's okay to want this because hey, if you don't take care of you, who's going to? Be good to yourself! You'll know when you're ready to give out the digits!

First of all, if the threats are serious, you should go to the authorities. Also, if you don't want to give a guy your phone number... give them a fake one. I know it sounds bad but guys really aren't that sensative, they will get over it.

How about this, don't be nasty about it, just tell them that you are freshly single and you are not ready to deal with anyone ribht now. Or how about just tell them you don't have a phone and if they catch you with a cell phone it's not yours you are carrying it for a friend.

This might work; Start hanging around people he doesn't like and invite him to come and join the crowd...He will then get turned right off.
