What type of catheter? If urinary, you just take a syringe, one without a needle in it, put the tip into the little port near the end of the tubing and pull back the saline or sterile water that is in it. Make sure to do it a few times depending on the size of your syringe, it will deflate the balloon that is holding it in, and pull gently to remove. I won't ask, but If you have a kidney problem, a catheter may be in place for a reason and make sure you can urinate on your own within a few hours of removing. If no urine in 24 hours, it could backflow into the kidney causing permanent damage, maybe even dialysis for the rest of you life, fyi.

OK! when you remove a catheter you can remove it with a wet towel or baby wipes. You take it off like you would a condom. You roll it off. Then you clean the area dry it and roll a new catheter on and lightly squeeze the catheter to make sure it sealed at the bottom then apply the posey but not too tight.
