my son dropped out of school and needs to obtain his high school

He dropped out, probably thinking it would be easier for him. Don't be a damned fool! Let him see how hard it is to have to fend for himself. Make him find out his own information. It is time for mom to give up coddling him, if you want him to try harder. Or, depending on how long he has been out, he could go back to the school to get his sorry a$$ back in there. HE could talk to the counselor, or dean of students and ask what he can do to get back in. It is never too late! But let him do most of the foot work. You just be there for moral support, or occasionally, if he needs a ride or whatever. Are you going to go to work with him every day once he gets a job too?

The only way he's going to get a diploma is to go back to school, if he doesn't want to go back to regular high school, a lot of community colleges offer adult high school programs, and he would still get a legitimate high school diploma and not a GED.

GED. He can jsut take a test and if he passes they will give him one. But tell him to get back in school.
