Cowboy Bill is right. Insurance companies are not afraid of attorneys. In some cases, they actually welcome them because they are easier to deal with than customers who won't listen to reason and are ignorant of the process involved with claims and expect things to be done yesterday and have expectations that are impossible to meet and just can't be done (not their fault, they obviously don't work in insurance, but they don't listen either!) I'm not sure why the arrogance or what about it is causing you a problem. However, in my experience with damaged homes or other property, it is best to use your homeowners and let them deal with it. Many times the damage to your house is extensive and Auto insurance companies don't know how to deal with it on their end, and if their policy holder has low limits under property damage liability, then they can't agree up front to pay it. You'd really need to be more specific about what the problem is for us to help, but going up the management chain of command is not a bad idea.
When someone has a claim it's a very personal and emotional thing. Your car is damaged, you need another, this is your life, or your house has a big hole in it and this is the WORST thing in the world. That is all true, but from a get-the-job done and handle the claim standpoint there is no room for the insurance company to be emotionally tied to your claim. It makes no sense. So what you see as arrogance, could that be that you're still upset about the loss and the fact that they aren't relating to you is causing issues. Anyway, that's all I can say without knowing more. Why do people not tell us more?

To all the idiots that suggest you get a lawyer --- you are all idiots. Do you really believe Allstate is afraid of a lawyer? If you are having problems with a particular adjuster then request to speak to his/her manager. Be prepared to do your part...don't feel like just because some bozo ran into your house you have the right to be an @ss -- stay calm, civil and professional. You will go MUCH further this way vs screaming, threating and lawyering-up. A scum-bag hack lawyer will only shark you out of 40% of your settlement. Here's an idea...why don't you let YOUR homeowners insurance handle this? You will have a deductible applied but that can be recovered simply enough through subrogation. Remember, Allstate didn't crash into your house and the poor dumb bast*rd that did didn't do it on purpose.

Can I get a big whoop-whoop for Cowboy Bill and Chris???
I work in insurance (not on the claims end - thank GOD!) and I just love when real adjusters get on here and speak the truth and tell it like it is! Why do people think that just because something has happened to them, they have a right to be a**holes to us in the business that are simply doing our jobs?
Follow the advice of Cowboy Bill and Chris. Don't get a lawyer. Lawyers will only make things that more complicated and will slow the process down even more, actually. And, they'll take a percentage of your precious settlement. We wouldn't want that now, would we?

Obviously AllState figures the collision is your fault. You should have signalled you were stopping there! LOL! Definitely let your home insurance take care of this. They will arrange the repairs on your home, and you will pay your deductible. They will subrogate against the offender, and Allstate will pay for the repairs and your deductible. It is known among insurance companies that there a couple that are harder for companies to deal with. You have run up against one of them.

Call your own homeowners insurance. Let THEM deal with Allstate. They will get whatever they need from Allstate. What the hell is the driver going to say, that your house suddenly pulled out in front of him or ran a stop sign?

Talk to attourney generals office, and insurance commissioners office at the state capital (any state you are in!). They will check it out pretty fast! You might inform them that this is going to be your next move, (they don't like to deal with state too well! --So they might have a "change of heart"!

I am assuming that you didn't leave your house sitting in the street without proper warning signs!!

Sic your insurance people on them....they will help if you need it. I have dealt with Allstate before and I got Statefarm involved to help me with them. They sing a different tune if they think your insurance company will get a lawyer involved.

Call around to lawyers and find the highest priced one. Take them to court and sue. Not only will you win the case, but they will get stuck with the legal fees.
