Is this normal not to go for 3 days....he has also been eating alot and I dont know where its going. He hasnt pooped in the house because I keep checking and I would have smelt it. Thanks!!

maybe i am crazy, but i had a kitten that was pooping in the house, and i didn't really smell it. i actually found it before i ever smelled it.
but, maybe i am the weird one with a bad sniffer.
does the cats stomach and body feel hard? it should feel pretty solid if it has been eating and not having movements.
if the cat seems completely normal and playful and not with a rock hard tummy, then i think it is going in your house and you just haven't found where.

I have a cat, and that's not normal for her.

Cats get constipated for a variety of reasons. Any disorder that impairs the passage of feces through the colon can lead to constipation. If the muscles in the colon don’t work right, or the nerves supplying the colon don’t signal properly, or if a pelvic fracture makes defecation painful, feces will stay in the colon longer than normal and constipation will result.

The most common cause of constipation is impaction of the colon with ingested hair or other foreign material. Animals that get constipated often run the risk of developing a potentially devastating disorder called megacolon, in which the colon becomes extremely dilated. Feces accumulate in this dilated colon and cannot be expelled normally, requiring constant medical management, and possible surgical intervention. Many cats with megacolon are euthanized because of their poor response to treatment, so it is important to treat the constipation now, and prevent megacolon from developing.

You should have your cat examined by your veterinarian to make sure that there is no inciting cause that needs to be addressed first. If everything is okay, your vet may prescribe a simple diet change (to a high fiber diet) as well as an over the counter laxative, such as “Laxatone” or “Petromalt” or something similar. If these products don’t work, stool softeners may need to be prescribed, and drugs that help the colon contract may be necessary to help the colon expel the feces before they accumulate. Unfortunately, one of the most effective drugs for this purpose, cisapride (Propulsid) was recently taken off the market.

As a pet owner, you can help prevent constipation by regularly grooming your cat, since hair ingestion is a common inciting cause for the constipation. Proper brushing and combing helps remove hair that might otherwise have been ingested.

Get him to the vet immediately!
Constipation is very dangerous in cats, and can be caused by problems that can be fatal. I don't want to scare you, but you don't want to dilly-dally with a non-pooping cat. Call your vet the minute you read this!

my kitten did this!! when i first got her it was 5 days before she did do a poo

make sure the litter is in a private area, she could be shy! and give her time, she is prob very scared and needs to get used to the new enivronment, if she doesnt go it could be what you are feeding her, or call a vet

My kitten eventually went, and i heard her fart it was the funniest thing ever!!

Try a bit of mineral oil on his food, about a quarter teaspoon. If that doesn't help in a day or so, he may have an intestional blockage. Get him to a vet so they can see what's wrong.

i could say it rather is a secure wager that he misses his mom. you are able to help him sense greater gentle by ability of scrunching an previous blanket right into a circle and putting him there to sleep. He does not understand you yet, and he's petrified of you. i understand, you in all probability are throughout him, how lovable he's, look what he's doing now, yet your worried because of the fact he hasn't eaten. once you carry a kitten (or any new puppy) into your place for the 1st time, that's unfamiliar territory. that's primary to you, yet no longer for the puppy. The puppy must be allowed to envision out this new place, and take it's time to envision out the recent place. so as meaning, you are able to desire to leave IT on my own, to enable it wander around and sniff, and get used to that's new environment. in case you p.c.. up the kitten and positioned it interior the muddle field, it is going to understand what that's for, and might even scratch in it and use it. in case you p.c.. up the kitten and positioned it close to the foodstuff and water, enable it sniff and are available to a determination if it needs to consume. (it would desire to no longer prefer to consume appropriate away, yet a minimum of it is going to understand the place to decide for it later.) Now if he comes to a decision to consume, you are able to by no ability hassle A CAT on an identical time as that's ingesting, it would desire to turn around and scratch you. enable the kitten check out your total abode, enable it take it rather is time, devoid of you chasing it around. whilst the kitten is happy all is truthfully, it is going to then come finding for you and characteristic the desire to make friends.

I think perhaps she is stress with the new environment and all. Try to get her a more privarcy and space for the litter to be placed and to avoid having citrus smelling scent around that area as they do not like that scent.

take it to the vet, especially if its tummy is swollen. it could've eaten something inedible and have an intestinal blockage- which will need immediate attention. it's a good idea to have any new animal checked out by the vet anyway, for parasites, vaccinations, etc.
