The problem is not when to eat, is WHAT you eat. When you crave sweets at nights is because you have not eaten enough good carbs during the day. I recommend that you eat at least 4 to 5 times a day in moderate portions; especially a lot of source of fruits and veggies. This will help you with those cravings at night. But if you still have a little bit of the "sweet tooth" syndrome, don't worry; eat some fruits, or a low fat yogurt, or a glass of vanilla or chocolate flavor soy milk (it taste delicious, believe me) to replace the Raisin Bran cereal or any type of cereal. Hope this advice helps you & good luck...

If you have had a full dinner, then anything you eat late at night will give you weight gain.
If you have not had a full dinner or just want to have late night snack then Raisin Bran is a good catch, only if you use slim milk and no sugar.
Raisin bran is good, but it has sugar in it, so I would suggest a sugar substitute for calories at late night.
Have you tried pop corn for a late night snack?

Eating at night tends to cause weight gain. Generally speaking, eating after 7 or 7:30pm isn't a good idea. (If you stay up late on a regular basis, the time frame may be adjusted somewhat.) Raisin Bran has quite a bit of sugar in it, (check the grams of sugar on the label) so it's particularly problematic to eat at night.

if it is high in refined sugars then you will because refined sugars cause insulin levels in the blood to be high...and when insulin levels in your blood are high your body stores calories as fat. this doesn't mean that eating late at night is bad...it's actually good to eat a whole grain cereal a few hours before bed so that it slowly digests while you sleep and keeps your metabolism working harder than if you had an empty stomach...and a higher metabolic rate means more calories burned in the long run.

You will gain weight eating anything late at night. Your body doesn't have time to burn off the calories and you burn very few at night while asleep.

If you overeat on anything, yes, you will gain weight. It doesn't matter how healthy the company advertises their cereal.

You gain weight eating anything after 9pm due to inactivity. Your body automatically turns what you eat into fat.
