The true Christian explanation is that there is NO trinity. The Bible does not support the idea that God is made up of three co-equal persons. The trinity doctrine was not formulate until over 300 years after the death of Jesus at the Council of Constantinople in 381 CE. The Bible teaches that Jehovah is the Most High. See Ps. 83:18. Jesus is the SON of the Most High. See Luke 1:32. True Christians are not confused because they know the trinity is not a Christian teaching.

God was in heaven when Jesus was on earth, Jesus was not God at any time, Yes he was simply a man but a Perfect man and God's only begotten Son(only one to be directly created by Jehovah himself the others /Jesus was given the privelidge to have a part in the rest of Creation)Son. Jesus was without sin, You are right the trinity is confusing, and it is not a teaching of the Bible. Jesus himself does not support that teaching. When Jesus was on earth His primary concern was that of doing God's will He never once even aluded to being equal to God in fact, quite the opposite, he always taught that God's will is above his own, He was obedient to God (John14:28; 5:19;Hebrews5:81Corinthians11:3 ;John20:17;Revelation1:6) and there are many more scriptures that disagree to the trinity myth!
No Jesus was not or is not God nor was or is he part of any trinity, the trinity is of Pagan originnot a Bible teaching and if the trinity were true, then, why, is it not explained nor spoken of in the Bible?

When Jesus was on Earth the Father God was with him in spirit and Holy spirit had not come yet. Jesus did have Godlike qualities but never proclaimed to be God but oneness with the Father. Jesus as a man but when he died he joined in divinity with Father because he was without sin and he completed his Father's mission on Earth which gave him the inheritance to the right hand of the Father on the throne and the only path or way to God thru him. If you are atheist and presume you are then Let it go and move on because ur questions are not showing sincerity or growth in religion nor spirituality.
Shalom

God the father was in heaven God the son (jesus) was on earth. And the holy spirit is like jesus' spirit in your heart kinda like a concious that you get after accepting jesus christ as savior(it tells u whats good and lets you know certain things are bad and tells you not to do them. Jesus had every god like quality He was perfect he never commited one sin while us humans comit them every minute.God is the actual figure you call God, jesus and the holy spirit are just other parts that make up the trinity.

This is such a debated issue among different christian denominations. I personally believe that Jesus was created by God, as a messenger for his Word, but not in fact God. I can't seem to grasp the concept that God could both be God in the heavens and Jesus on earth. Plus in the scriptures there are a lot of passages that quote Jesus as being lower than God. Like the one where he says "The Father is greater than I" or something to that effect.

I hope I say this correctly, I am a believer, but not always in church. Jesus is the son of God. God and the holy ghost were in Heaven--I believe in all 3 God, the son and the Holy Ghost. I know all 3. I could give u examples of extra strength to move 3000 pounds, but I will not. Jesus was sent as a sacrifice for all our sins--what more to sacrifice----at the time the best lambs and goats were sacrificed. Because of the sacrifice we can ask and recieve forgiveness.
You have ur beliefs, obviously.
So I have mine.

If you want to understand the Trinity, think of it this way:
You have a hand, you have a mouth, and you have an eye. Your eye is not your hand. Nor is your eye your mouth. And so on. They are different things, but they are connected. And they are all you. YOU are not just your eye or your hand, you're all those things and more.
And so it is with the trinity. A person may percieve one aspect or another, but really they are all the same thing. And just as you can't see or talk with a hand, so too was Jesus without access to the full abilities of God and The Spirit. A mortal, yet still connected to the immortal.
Does that make sense now?

Great Question! I will attempt to make this quick. That one dude went way too long.
The easiest way that was explained to me, was in the analogy of an Egg. There are three parts to an egg, each one is individual in character, yet it is all egg. If the shell is on my counter, the yoke is on my stove, and the white goey stuff is in the fridge, are they now not an egg? No, they are just individualized. In the opening verses of Genesis (before they even mention Jesus), God says, Let US make man in OUR image... I think that is Gen. 1:26. So to answer your direct? God was in Heaven.
Phi 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Phi 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Phi 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
The following is to the answerer not the asker:
Hello! The Pharisees were always scoffing at Jesus, because He did allude to being equal with God! "John 10:30- I and my Father are one." What can you say about that? Sorry if I sound rude, just shocked.

I do not believe in the Trinity. No where in the Bible did Jesus Christ say he was God. He said "I came to do the will of my Father who sent me". The holy spirit is God's active force that He used to create the Earth, animals, humans, planets, trees, etc..

Philippians 2:6-7 "Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men" and John 16:13 "However, when He the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you thing to come" again John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God." The carnal man cannot understand spiritual things.
