It was a chemical used extensively in VietNam to remove the foliage on massive areas to prevent the VietCong from hiding in the jungle. It was tested at the Candian Forces Base Gagetown. They now know that it contained cancer causing chemicals.

Agent Orange was a chemical defloiant use to kill the jungles in Vietnam. It killed the trees and other plants and was used to clear areas used by the North Vietnamese and Viet Cong to expose their supply lines and hidden bases. It was made, I believe, by Dow Chemical Company but I may be wrong about that.

A defoliant used in Veitnam extensively.The theory being that they could kill the jungle creating better visibility for FAC pilots and thus more effective offensive tactical situations.
Highly toxic for those involved in the area including American troops
