Am I the only one who sleeps in a separate room because of my husband's snoring. It's super loud and I just can't get any sleep. We can't afford snoring surgery and we've tried everything so I've just accepted it. Our sex life is fine but I miss the closeness of waking up next to him (it didn't get that bad til 2 years ago.) Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat.

He's tried the strips, sprays, and mouthgard, but not the sleep study. I'll mention it to him

My husband started snoring badly. He went through the sleep test and was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. He now sleeps with a CPAP machine, which some people can manage and some people can't. But, it has made all the difference in the world for my husband. Sleep apnea is a potentially dangerous condition and can have some pretty profound impacts on health. Obstructive sleep apnea becomes more of a problem when weight is an issue too. Check it out.

My husband snores really loud some nights, but I'm still by his side. It's frustrating because once his head it's the pillow he is sleep and then I have to hear it and force myself to sleep, wrap pillows around my head, etc....Sometimes I'll knock him a couple of times and say, "YOU"RE SNORING LOUD" his response, I'm sorry, I can't help it! (which it isn't his fault) My husband snores the loudest when he is tremendously tired! Sometimes he'll stop snoring just a little if he sleeps on his side. But girl, I feel you on that one. I took me a very very very long time to get use to the snoring.....still from this day I struggle here and there. I LOVE and that's what counts regardless of his snoring problems.. Hang in there..

Has he had a sleep study done? They should be able to tell you why he is snoring, and the solution may not require surgery.

I believe it can be covered by insurance with a doctor's referral. I have a family friend who works in a sleep lab...that's what she told me.

I have one of these, too. His is horrid. I couldn't bear to not sleep with him, and it's been 17 years. I have insomnia, so the two of us together just trash the sleeping sweetly department. My husband also has sleep apnea (talk about stress for me as I wait for him to take that next breath), and should really be using a CPAP machine. Your husband should look into a sleep clinic, where he will get evaluated. Most cities have them in hospitals, and certainly in teaching hospitals at universities, so he could be referred.

The husband's snoring may be a cue for the cat that he. too, can enter a deep sleep. Or maybe they are allergic to each other.

Oh my goodness...I know exactly how you feel!!! My husband snores so bad I usually have to kick him out to the couch. He too has tried everything. It is so frustrating to him and I...Me because I can't sleep, him because he can't help it.

umm, hell no. we've been married for 12 years and its got to be the most annoying sound ever!! our sex life is fantastic. we do cuddle, but as soon as he falls asleep, i pack my pillow and blanket and i'm on the couch. we trade each other for the bed, its really sad. sometimes if i fall asleep first or take a tylenol pm, i won't hear him snoring, other times i just lay there thinking shut the #@!@# up! nothing works. he needs to lose some weight. that's the main problem i think.
