My fiance and I are going on a trip and we both smoke, the car is new and we havent smoked in it yet and we dont want to stink it up but in 15 hours of driving not smoking wont happen. Does anyone have some good methods to keep the smell out? We dont use ashtrays and were going to put a dryer sheet in the cabin air filter. We thought of that ionization thing that plugs into your cig. lighter. Need some more surefire ways to fight it. Please dont say dont smoke, my choice. Thanks in advance to all the smokers!

I smoke in my car. Try using a tablespoon of white vinegar in a pint of water in a spray bottle (you can find these spray bottles in most department stores where they sell the brooms and such). Mist the inside of the car when you get out for a pit stop. It will not stain your upholstery. Additionally put some carpet fresh powder in the ash tray, it will help put out the cigarette and give the car a nice smell. Enjoy the trip, chow.

Try taking turns smoking. When one of you is smoking, just crack the window a bit. The air rushing past your car will suck the smoke out faster. When you exhale the smoke, try to blow most of it out of the cracked window. Make sure to ash out the window as well. If you have both windows down when you smoke, the wind will just blow the ashes back into your car, so the cracked window method is better for that. Also, use lots of Febreze. If that doesn't work, you could always shell out the $35 or so to get your upholstery cleaned when you get back from your trip. When using the air freshener, make sure to spray the headliner really well too, since smoke usually travels upwards.

As someone who use to work at a car dealership there is really no way to ever remove the smell. It will always creep back up when the weather is warm or humid.Fe breeze Micro does help cover the odor though

open the windows when you smoke, and leave em open for a few minutes after wards. febreeze the whole car before you get out, and it will smell good when you get in it the next time.
