My fiance and I are going on a trip and we both smoke, the car is new and we havent smoked in it yet and we dont want to stink it up but in 15 hours of driving not smoking wont happen. Does anyone have some good methods to keep the smell out? We dont use ashtrays and were going to put a dryer sheet in the cabin air filter. We thought of that ionization thing that plugs into your cig. lighter. Need some more surefire ways to fight it. Please dont say dont smoke, my choice. Thanks in advance to all the smokers!

I do not smoke, but my parents did. When my mother died, I did let my Dad smoke in my car. I just let the windows down and used Febreeze and it worked. But be careful, because, when he threw it out the window it had went into the back seat under my Kleenex box, UN-be known to me and burned a whole in the seat.

The #1 best thing is to leave your windows rolled down! Spray febreeze everywhere; seats, carpet, ceiling, everywere. Clean it out really good to get rid of any ashes that have fallen in the concel area. And lastley, get an air freshner if you want. Just take it out a few hours before you take her for a ride so the smell isnt' too strong!

Hi, I would suggest using Fabreeze. You squirt the upulstry and the carpets and it will or should illiminate most of the odors. You can also you this stuff called Ozium. That is a powerful spray that gets right to the odors. Give it a try with either of those and I hope that works good for you.

Well buddy, the best you can do is park your car when you feel like smoking and do all the smoking outside the car. There's certainly nothing you can do to stop the smoke from smelling in the car if you smoked in it. You cannot deceive people like me with perfect olfactory sensory nerves that the car doesn't smell smoke just because you think you've eliminated the smell with some chemical. I and many people will still perceive the smell of cigarette smoke no matter how much you try to eliminate it.
