its not genetic. Sorry.
The only sin we have when we are born is original sin. How your tempted in your life isnt your fault, and some people might be tempted really hard to be homosexual...but if you dont give into it you havnt sinned and your not homosexual.
Its like smoking...some people might be tempted to smoke, some might not at all. But until you give in to your temptation and start smoking your not a smoker.

It has been suggested that homosexuality could be related not to genes but rather to the amount of a certain hormone which a fetus is exposed to during pregnancy - something that the mother has little control over. This article suggests finger length might be related to it, as well as how many brothers or sisters your mother had before you.
I suspect that if there were certain women who were adament about not having a homosexual child, they could figure out how to tamper with the amount of this hormone ( assuming this theory is correct). But it would seem like messing around with hormones would be a really bad idea.
If it turns out that homosexuality is in fact genetic, I would assume that most women hoping for straight offspring would have their Embryos created for them. These women would likely be wealthier, as they can afford a doctor who would be able to tell whether the "Gay Gene" was present. Women without the luxury of such doctors would probably not know until the child grew up. It's very hard to do a genetic test on a fetus - even today, you can't do paternity tests until the child is born. So therefore, it would not be likely that there would be abortions because of the detection of a homosexual gene.

Maybe a better question would be what would the Religious Right's platform be if they do find an accurate genetic test for homosexuality? That sort of thing just ruins their entire line that homosexuality is a sin of choice, not a circumstance of birth.

It will probably quickly be made illegal to do this test on a fetus, as homosexuality is not a life-threatening or mental health condition. I think it's now illegal in India and China to do a test for the sex of the child, as the femaie children were being aborted.

NO! in no way. I do help abortion...partly, and hesitantly, because of the fact a woman has the main appropriate to % what to do together with her physique...yet especially because of the fact there are frequently scientific reasons to realize this. If the newborn or mom won't stay on the delivery then pondering an abortion makes a great variety of expertise...besides as all the different scientific reasons for thinking approximately having one. yet allowing somebody to have an abortion because of the fact of their sexuality makes all gay human beings out to be terrible people who have not have been given any actual to stay. additionally, this could open the door and inspire human beings to have abortions in the event that they decide that their fetus is the incorrect intercourse, or could have a hair or eye shade the determine would not like.

Before pursuing a "genetic test" they first need to find some evidence that homosexuality has a genetic component. So far, in spite of intense research aimed at discovering such a link, there is nothing to suggest any such factor in homosexuality.

Better question: If they had a genetic test for stupidity, what would be your chances of being around to ask this?

If she was a true mother never. Abortion is a mother's right, but not if it is used for discrimination.
I would say more pressure would be from the father.

There is no gene for homosexuality. There are plenty of documented cases of IDENTICAL TWINS where one is gay and the other is not. (look it up if you don't believe it)
IF THERE WAS A GAY GENE BOTH WOULD BE GAY OR STRAIGHT SINCE THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME IDENTICAL GENETIC MAKEUP!!!!!
It is not something you are born with.
