I just did and for the first time ever actually FEEL SLEEPY!! Insomnia has been a struggle for a very, very long time, and I usually go on 5 hours sleep for several days/few weeks in a row until my body is spent, then crash really early one night to try to make up for it.

I took some melatonin tonight at 8, even though I've tried every sleeping pill known to pharmacists.....and this actually works! Have you had similar results?! Will it work like this every time I take it, or does your body get used to it? ANYWAY, good night!!! (i'm so happy!)

My hypnotherapist swears by it. I have had insomnia for a long time, but I am now using self-hypnosis (a cassette tape), and it works well. I am usually asleep within about 10 minutes. She laughs at me because I keep telling her I still haven't heard the end of the tape. I'm always asleep before it gets there! This is not something I bought, but it's actually my hypnotherapists voice. I am sure something like this would help anyone get to sleep. It concentrates on breathing and muscle relaxation. Glad the melatonin works for you.

Melatonin does work very well, I only have had to use it occasionally, when I am not sleeping due to stress, hormone imbalance whatever. I am a great believer in in natural cures, as much as is possible. You may not have to use it all the time, as it actually helps to adjust the production of sleep inducing (naturally occurring)chemicals and hormones in your body, and you may not need it every night. You will not become addicted to or dependent on it either, which is a great advantage. I have started with the oh so fun, hot flashes (keep telling myself they are power surges,) and that was interfering with my sleep. I added Black Cohosh to my regimen, 60 mg of the root extract AM and PM and that keeps the flashes at a minimum, my energy stable during the day and helps me sleep through the night. The extreme lack of sleep, especially for woman because of all that we do has greatly added to the stress in the world. We have more technology than ever, which supposedly helps, and we have less time for ourselves and less restful sleep. Your body will not get used to the melatonin, as it is non-synthetic. Have a happy night of sleep!

Rozarem, the newest prescription sleeping pill, utilizes the melatonin receptor. It's good to help people fall asleep. Have you tried this new pill because if melatonin works, this med might work?

My daughter swears by it, she has used it for a couple of years now and her body had not gotten so used to it that it quit working. She doesn't require it every night but she does use it about 4-5 times a week. Glad you are getting some rest!!!

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

Melatonin is good stuff. I take it too. It also helps prevent restless leg syndrome.

I'm a long time insomniac. Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try it! I think the body builds up a tolerance to anything that you keep taking. Try not taking it every day. Sweet dreams!

I tried it but it gave me weird dreams. Worked okay, I guess. Maybe if I'd stuck with it a little longer, it would have worked without that effect.

Glad it works for you, though. Cheers! :-)
