Yes, you can join the US army. Many of the foreigners who join do so to become US citizens. Good luck to you.

EXCELLENT way to obtain real citizenship.
I served with a Marine born and raised in the Ukraine

Yes you can join i have a friend who serves alongside me he only had a visa i belive and he got his citizenship though the army. i also have a buddy from hong kong in my company who got his diploma and citizenship through the army ..so yes you can go for it :)

You need to have a green card,ie.permanent resident!

yes, you just need an I-551 (green card) and be otherwise qualifed (mentally, morally, physically).
