Shame on you for wanting to scare your kitty!
Well, if he's healthy a good startle shouldn't do any harm. When I was little I scared the [bleep] out of my cat just by sneaking up on her and yelling "Boo!" Another time I accidentally dumped some dirt on her while digging a hole in the back yard. She leaped about a third of a meter straight up in the air.

I use to hide around the corner and when I would see her shadow coming I would jump out and growl. She would jump in the air and then run down the hall... then the next time I was walking down the hall she's be hiding and when I came around the corner she;s jump out at me and grab my leg... that made me jump. Every time my cats is doing something wrong or discovering something new she will creep around really slow. When I see this I will sneak up behind her and poke her gently, that usually makes her jump. Sometimes you can find a toy that will make sounds or move around... cats always have a lot of fun with those.

Cats generally don't like orange peels. I let my sisters cat sniff one once and then gently tossed it on his head, that cat must have jumped 3 feet! lol.

You shouldn't purposely scare your cat, if you want something to send into AFV then have someone scare you and then send that tape in.

Don't scare your kitty, he'll remember it and never fully trust you again. If you care at all for this soul are you willing to take that chance? Hell hath no fury like a feline scorned! Why don't you just go to sleep.........

Don't bother.
There are better things to record and not harm your cat.
Besides, if you do something to scare him, you will lose his trust.

My dad dropped his cane in the kitchen on the tile floor and I swear the cat didn't hit the ground until he touched the cement outside. If I only had a camera!
