Its a very very very sad thing, but I am glad he is in a better place now :.) He was suffering so much.Yesterday he was trying to chase off the flies that wouldnt leave him alone,so he jumped up and ran across our yard, then jumped up on our sidewalk which was about 4 feet high, just sat there for a minute, and then fell off, and hit himself on a rock, and just laid there, breathing really heavily. Then after a minute he started crying. I thought he was dying right there in front of me.Then he got up and hid underneath the neighbors boat, and I couldnt pick him up because he looked like he was in too much pain. And when I woke up this morning, my mom told me that he died. We burried him in our garden. And when our other cat walked by his grave she jumped and sniffed around his grave like she knew what had happened. They were buddies. And ever since then she has been moping around. Like she knows what happened. We are all going to miss him.He used to give us kisses too.He was sooo sweet

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I lost a cat to leukemia several years ago. He suffered so it was a good thing that he passed. It was so very sad and I was down for a long time. The vet made us wait a year before bringing another animal in the house. I am sorry you have to go through this but time does help as time passed you will be less sad. Your other cat is mouring too. He may sleep by the grave and mope for quite a while. My cat passed 25 years ago and I have had many cats since then. All loving wonderful creatures. God Bless you in your grief...

You may have heard this before, but losing a pet is often as traumatic aslosing a family member. Why? Because they ARE a family member. We see them every day, we love them, we care for them, and when they show us affection, we know they love us.

At the moment, what you need to do is experience all of the emotions you are going through. Crying for the passing of an animal is not silly or wrong. It is totally natural, and don't let anyone tell you any different from that.

Spend time with those close to you, and take comfort from the fact he is no longer in pain.

Everyone who reads your story can sense your broken heart, and our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Oh! I am so sorry for your loss! I'm a cat lover (owner) too. My cat has been suffering allot of physical problems so I understand! Losing a best friend is a horrid thing. Just hold on to those beautiful memories. Do some things to take your mind off of it like watch your favorite movie or eat your favorite ice cream. I am truly sorry, once again. I hope that you grieve only awhile. God Bless.

I know how you feel, we(my family and me)had to put down our dear dog not to long ago, I still miss her dearly. One thing you have to realize is that it's not your fault it happend, there was nothing you could do to help him. One thing how I get over my pain is I think, "would Princess want me to miss her like this or be happy that she now can live in a happier place without any pain?". Give the other cat lots of attention and let her know how much you love her, it will help both of you. When you really miss him badly talk to someone about it and/or give the living cat a nice sqeeze.

I'm so sorry for you, this is a sad, sad day for your family. I wish I could ease your grief, but time is the only thing that will. Remember the joy your friend brought to your life and be glad that you were lucky enough to have that time together. Know that his suffering is over and his spirit will be with you always. Nothing loved is ever lost and it sounds like he was very loved indeed. My deepest sympathy to you and your other cat.

I am so sorry you have to go through this, and I have been through it. I remember just laying on the kitchen floor beside my cat More who could barely move, and just snuggling to his long white fur, and I was just bawling. My husband had to make me get up and leave the cat alone.
One thing you might watch for is the behaviour of your other cat. When our More died, our other cat honestly went into a depression - for about six months he wouldn't wash himself (and it wasn't that the other cat used to do all his grooming, I mean they would wash each other a bit), and it got really gross. Even if we washed him, it wouldn't help. It didn't show up in other behaviour, and I guess he just got through it eventually.
You'll always think of your kitty you lost - what was his name? By now, he's chasing mice and birds in kitty heaven!

I ams so sorry for your lost. I loves cats and have 4 of them. I can't imagine the pain you are feeling right now, I am tearing as I read your question.

I know nothing can replace your lost, but perhaps another cat. I am sure as cat lover, u never love a cat any lesser for any reason

My husband never cried when his old parents died within a year apart, because he knew they had a good long life together.

He only cried when our 14 yr cat died three days before Christmas, so we share your pain and grief.

I know getting another cat to try to take the place of the one who died for your other cat is not in the question, but please consider it for the other cat's sake.

I know, because when my cat died many years ago hit by a car the other buddy cat wondered where he went? Within three months the other cat went looking for his buddy and got hit in almost the same spot by a car. It was heart breaking. So, please consider another cat for the one left.
