If you want to do it yourself go to: http://www.cwol.com/usb/ads-dvd-xpress-dx2-usbav-709.htm to buy the hardware. The box connects to your computer, and has hook ups for your VCR. It is called DVD Xpress, but it will copy the movies to CDs. Note, a CD might not be able to handle all of your home videos, or then again if they are short movies, it might. Second option is to search for someone on line who performs this service. Best of luck.

You'll need to convert them to .dat formats with PAL/SECAM/MESECAM/NTSC first and then burn them onto your CD.

Generally, the CD Writer comes with a lot of bundled free software that can do this for you. Video Converter Softwares are costly if you want to buy them.

I'd suggest you ask the people who sold you the CD Writer to guide you as to which program is the Converter and teach you how to use it.

Cheers.

There are cards that come with cables that can do this, or if you have a camcorder you can probably route it through that.
