definitely take him to a doctor and get a referral to a child psychologist. hair pulling is a obsessive compulsive disorder. needs to be addressed, sooner the better. my son used to do the same thing. he is OK now but i know adults who still have the same problem.

Sounds like some sort of anxiety same as those kids that bang there heads against walls etc. Hopefully he'll grow out of it, just shave his hair short so he cant grab it and give him a doll with hair to play with instead in the meantime. Good luck.

My mothers friend has a daughter with autism that does the same thing. It could be many things though. Some kids do it when they're nervous. I would take him to the doctor asap.

Take him to the doctor. There is an illness called Trichotillomania which causes people to do this. Here's a web site for you to check out. It is treatable, so that's good news! Good luck!
