Jesus’ prophecy in John 13:38 ("The cock shall not crow, till thou [Peter] hast denied me three times") seems incorrect. Mark 14:66-68 shows the cock crowed after the first denial, not the third.

Which was it?

mark 14
72 And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

good question! in Mark 14:72 says that Jesus predicted that the rooster would crow twice after Peter denied him three times. but John does not mention that the rooster will crow twice, just that the rooster would crow. i do not think this is a detail that should keep us from the real point: Peter denied Jesus three times and Jesus foretold this. great question, though!
