The Arab world does a lot of business with Japan. I think this would be a very good carrer move, especially if you speak English well.
Egypt receives many Japanese tourists yearly. Maybe apply for a job as a tour-guide there as you are learning both languages...
If it doesn't work out, Arabic is in big demand in agencies like the CIA and NSA - "No Such Agency" :)
Another place is the U.N. Based on the Interpreters I've heard in the security council, they really need good Arabic->English Interpreters.

Do you mean as far as work and in translations? Arabic for sure. Japanese yes for business purposes. If you want to know the best languages to know or study look up the languages used in the United Nations. There is 6 of them I believe. These are the ones most needed and wanted around the World.

I'm not too sure, but it seems like it to me. Arabic is certainly in high demand right now. Japanese has fallen a little by the wayside in comparison to Chinese, which is seen to be the hottest area of expansion and a good language to learn. But Japanese is still valued (I keep telling myself . . .). I say go for it.

Those are very good languages to learn. Im sure they will be assets in your resume, especially if you want a job with multinational firms. However, remember to be very fluent in English first and foremost.
Lately , because China is an upcoming market player, many companies are also considering trade with them. Based on this, consider Chinese as another future language to learn.
I can practically see the employers pounding the door to hire you ! LOL.

Japanese maybe if you plan to actually visit or do biz with Japan.
But only 1% of Americans ever visit or do direct biz with the Japanese
Arabic? Pointless, they have nothing we need, that is unless you want to work for Exxon..
