I mean, it would be pointless for the creator of everything to sacrifice himself, who is immortal and all-powerful. To me it seems that it makes much more sense sacrificing a sinless human (Jesus), God's only-begotten Son, to save mankind. The whole point of Jesus being sacrificed for mankind was to shed his perfect, innocent blood in the name of mankind to start things anew. If it were God himself, "manifested" as Jesus sacrificing himself, you would have a paradox since he created Jesus, and he is in fact God too, which is absurd in my opinion.

He doesn't need to, but his Love was such that he wanted to give humans a chance to reobtain a personal relationship with God. I guess God tried to convince humans in a visual way that he is real. It is abstract thoughts, remember. The question you should think of is 'can two things be one at the same time?' This is the dogma that has since surged to ideas such as the Trinity. God sacrified something that humans hold dear... human life (consciousness) and flesh. I think he sacrified a part of himself. I think humans are a manifestation of God, yes, and so is Jesus. Jesus just had a closer connection with God than most everyone else does.. that's why he was "sinless." It's all very abstract and not logical. Spirituality is not logical nor practical.

According to Christian thought when Adom ate the forbidden fruit man sinned and God cannot look at sin so Jesus had to be sacrificed in order for man to be able to come to God. It does not make sense, but even Christians know this does not make sense, but shows God's love. Go figure.

God is a title, meaning omni-potent, omni-present and omni-science. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God the Father, gave God the Son to be a sacrificial offering and God the Son send God the Holy Spirit to be our comforter, leader, guide....Read Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1.

Dear Gary, I woud like to answer your question by asking you a question.

Do you consider yourself to be a good person?

Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; Have you ever hated someone? the BIBle says "he who hates his brother is a murderer at heart.
Nothing you’ve ever done is hid from His holy eyes. Will you be innocent or guilty on the Day of Judgment? Listen to your conscience. You know that you will be guilty, and therefore end up in Hell. That’s not God’s will. He provided a way for you and I to be forgiven.
He sent His Son to take our punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death.
Your own so-called “goodness” can’t get you into heaven any more than mine could. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name, so Repent (turn from sin) and put your full faith and trust in Jesus as Lord and savior. if you will do this God will frogive you of your sin and grant you the gift of everlasting life.
God Bless

a million Corinthians 15:20, 21 yet Christ rather has been raised from demise -- the 1st one in all all people who would be raised. 21 demise is composed of human beings because of the fact of what one guy did. yet now there is resurrection style demise because of the fact of yet another guy. a million John 4:9 and 14 (9) by ability of this the affection of God became made take place in our case, because of the fact God sent forth his purely-begotten Son into the worldwide that we'd desire to earnings existence by way of him. (14) to boot, we ourselves have beheld and are bearing witness that the father has sent forth his Son as Savior of the worldwide. Acts 4:12 apart from, there is not any salvation in anybody else, for there is not any longer yet another call below heaven that has been given between adult males by ability of which we could get saved.”

Sounds to me like you just answered your own question.... why you were arguing your point...Because Christ was the perfect sinless sacrifice ....God had to have someone to do it...Can you name someone on this earth that qualifies to die for us ? as mere weak human sinners..?.and God didn't do it to make sense to you or anyone else for that matter.... Our salvation is and always has been based on FAITH...NOT FACT....what might seem illogical to you, can make perfect sense to the rest of us as faithful, trusting, hopeful believers...understanding that God doesn't have to seem logical to us to get us to believe and follow and trust Him to be in control .....and He knows exactly what He is doing and doesn't need us fault-filled humans to help Him..or point out to Him that somethings doesn't sound sensible to us...We are earthly and can only see what is right in front of us...He sees the whole picture...Our whole life.... in one glance...We can only take one step at a time and trust Him to take care of what we do not understand....

Our God died for us, which shows his unending love for us. Jesus was not created by God. He is one in being with the Father. He was born of the virgin Mary, thereby becoming flesh but is still God
