SOme are truly accepting, and willing to accept other beliefs, as it says in their bible. Yet others distort the bible to say that they are then only true way to get to be with God, and everyone else goes to hell no matter their righteousness. I cant think of any stronger sin of hubris than that. Explain yourselves, those among you that reject all other religions and beliefs. And save the scripture. That is not an explanation. Think for yourselves for once. And here come the thumbs down from those same ignorant people...LOL One can tell immediately by that unwillingness to think that there are others with different beliefs.

Prove it JEsus Freak. I said not to quote scripture, and expect it to answer everything because it answers nothing.

Not all, just the Pentacostals, and Baptists, and those from the Mid west, and Deep South, and those who need to get a life or atleast a broader spectrum of it LOL
I'm Catholic and am very interested in other religions, I've been to Jewish temple with friends, I went to a Budhist temple with friends, and I loved it and I recently just went to a Unitarian church with other friends and very cool! I also personally realize, that is one of the wonderful freedoms of this country.

I really have a problem with the whole concept of "accepting other beliefs". Respecting, yes. But if I accept all other beliefs, then I believe nothing. I only have opinions.
So basically, it would actually be wrong for me to believe something to the extent that I really believed it is the truth.
As a Christian, there are a lot of philosophical arguments I could give to explain why I believe what I do, there are also experiential arguments (my personal relationship with God through Christ). But I don't think that's really what you are asking for. I get the impression that I would have to say "Well, I believe the bible, and I believe that Jesus is God, and that He is the Saviour, but then again, the Bible could be a pack of lies, Jesus could be an imposter, and maybe we don't need a Saviour from our sins'. Well, I'm just not made that way, and I don't see the logic of believing something to be true, and believing its opposite could be true as well.
As I said at the beginning, I hope I treat other beliefs with respect, but I can't pretend I think they might be right.
I do find it interesting to read a person who identifies himself as "catholic", claim to be open minded, but then start running down the Baptists and the Pentecostals, and so on. There is a need for a little consistencey there. I don't think the Pentecostal or the Baptist can even feel respected in that case. Some people have the message "you are open'minded if you agree with me". You will find that among all beliefs. Nothing more closed-minded than someone who is convinced he is one of the few open-minded people around.

Because most of these Christians know the truth already and if you read the bible there will always be a truthful explanation for the contradiction of other beleifs. Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

we are no longer the Crusaders or the Knight's Templar, and we are no longer those human beings you maintain conversing approximately who supposedly kill others in God's call. Such issues contradict what God taught us. A Christian is defined as somebody who aspires to stay by ability of the instructions of Christ. whilst between the Pharisees asked Jesus what the terrific commandment became, He responded, "Love the Lord your God with all your coronary heart and with all your soul and with all your thoughts. that's the 1st and best commandment. And the 2d is like it: 'Love your neighbor as your self.' each and every of the regulation and the Prophets draw close on those 2 commandments." (Matthew 22:37-40) needless to say the Crusaders did no longer obey this easy command, so by ability of action they weren't Christians, and neither is Westboro Baptist "Church" or any of the others which you pronounced that are damaging in direction of non-Christians. evaluate this in the previous you initiate attacking what someone believes in: anybody can declare that they seem to be a Christian, yet their strikes are what teach us who they are truthfully (James 2:14-19). Going to a church does not make you a Christian to any extent further than status in a hangar makes you an airplane. i could recommend attending to appreciate human beings individually in the previous ranting against someone's faith. God Bless. "if ur god is so marvolus why are there dieing human beings in africa?" properly, there are various Christians who look for to therapy that. on the grounds which you're responsive to human beings loss of existence in Africa, then why do no longer you connect us in helping them?

As a Christian myself, I agree with you. While I believe in Jesus Christ 100%, I accept the fact that those of other religions believe in the God(s)of the faiths that they were brought up in, & to go out of one's own way to tell them that they are wrong, will only insult them.
If a Christian wants to share the Gospel with others, they should be open to those of other faiths sharing their beliefs, too.

Maybe they think if they have an open mind their brains will fall out. However it is more likely that 50% of radical christians believe that they truly are the only ones who have it right and the other 50% are scared that they don't so they must belittle others to feel okay about it.

These people are not really Christians. They just like to call them selves Christians.
They are actually followers of the Pauline tradition. Created to obscure the true teachings of Jesus buy the Romans who absorbed Christianity.

:) I believe the Bible. I do believe in hell. But, I only tell people what I believe if they ask. It does not say to respect the beliefs in the Bible. It says to love your neighbors as well as yourself. Why quote what it says in the Bible if you do not believe it. I say live and let live. You say to save scripture. Why then refer to it? I am asking seriously this question. I am not God so I don't know what he wants. I only can think for myself. I can not say who goes to hell and who does not.

As a Jew are you open minded to other people beliefs? No, I don't think so. If you have found the truth, then you need not look anywhere else. Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life... we need not open our minds to any other medium.

I think you're wrong in saying "most Christians". Most Christians are very open minded of other beliefs. You just don't hear from us very often because we know people are capable of choice and therefore we leave people to believe what they want just as we believe what we do. Silence is an unfortunate biproduct of tolerance.
