I have a thick head of hair & is color treated on ends w/sunny streaks & also is dry as a grass rope if I don't use a quality product. The best for my thick mop is L'oreal Shampoo for color treated hair. Their conditioner for color treated hair is extra TLC for hair that is altered w/chemicals. Can be found at most large grocery stores & at Wal-Mart Eckerd's CVS & K-Mart. Both products @ $3.00 each.

Most professional lines make a color-treated shampoo in one form or another - it's simply a gentler cleanser fortified with moisture. The best thing you can do to keep your color as vibrant as possible for as long as possible is to shampoo it as little as possible and use cool water temperatures.

You can pay an arm and a leg and get a specialty shampoo from the hairdresser...or just use a good quality one from the drugstore. Your color will fade no matter what...

I think the best shampoo line is the Chi line. It is made by Farouk.

I use the Tigi brand. It's really nice and doesn't leave a residue like most store bought brands.
