Please don't panic. there's no need to rush you dog to the vet,. Since you said your dog acts otherwise normal and active and this is something that happens in the morning,it simply means that your dog is hungry and has an empty tummy.
I've gone thought the same thing with my pup, and the vet told me that dog will vomit yellow bile when he or she is hungry. I stated feeding her a little snack before bedtime and when she gets up in the morning, and she's been fine ever since.
I also dded some links to let you know it's nothing you need to rush to a vet for.

I have a Maltese and she throws up also. I notice she'll throw up after eating grass. But I thought they ate grass because it helped their stomach.
For a while she stopped and I attributed this to a change in dog food. This week I started with PurinaOne and she started throwing up again. I think the food she eats has everything to do with it.
Having an empty stomach is not a problem for her. We were told for Maltese to leave out food all the time so she can eat when she needs. She never indulges herself and eats only what she needs. I know some dogs will gulp it all down whether hungry or not.
So, that's my take. And it does do havoc to my rugs! We'll be changing her food back to the old brand Nutro or one that is higher rated.
There's a webpage that rates dog food by ingredients. Lost it but PurinaOne got an F and Nutro got a B. May try the A+s.
Hope it helps.

My dog did that every night. It's acid reflux, and I changed his food. I am using Iams Lamb & Rice. I feed him in the morning and a small scoop at night. The reason at night, other places on the internet showed that it was because he might be hungry witht he yellow foam he was spitting up. He is a very active lab/german shepard mix, he needs his dinner! A lot of dog food out there has Red 40, which can cause an allergic reation and also to corn. So try to get a food with less corn. Hope this helps.

I have two Greyhounds and they do this once in a while too. Usually when their breakfast/dinner has been spaced too far apart or they drink too much water too fast (my boy likes to guzzle his water so we have to tell him to go easy.) we call this "urping" sorta like baby wet burps. When we told our vet about it he told us to keep track of when, where, how much and what the dogs were doing right before and after...see if there is a pattern. If there is then you change it. If you think your dogs tummy is actually upset try giving him a tablespoon of plain yogurt on his food every other day or so....it helps with the "runs" too. Good luck.

My dog does the exact same thing. She has been doing it for years, and hasn't ever acted sick. I sort of think it is like acid reflux or something. My dog is a chow mixed with a bunch of other stuff, so it isn't exclusive to your breed. I don't really know what is going on, but it seems harmless. I'm not too worried -- unless it gets on my carpet. I hate that.

My dog does this when she has an empty tummy. I just give her a couple treats before bedtime and another when she gets up in the morning. This has really helped her, she hasn't had a problem with the bile in months.

He may just have a sensitive tummy. One of my dogs could eat a grenade and not get sick, the other eats anything besides dog chow and he ralphs. Keep an eye on your pup and see if he's eating anything out of the ordinary, including grass or plants. Then call your vet and see what he/she thinks.

This substance is called bile and it comes from the liver. Make an appointment with Vet. will probably want to do a blood work up to see if something is going on with liver or anywhere else. Good luck.

You might feed him something his stomach doesn't agree with or he might be sick. In any case only a vet can give you the right answer and proper course of action
