I have both, but prefer the actual books. You would be amazed with how many of my students don't know how to look stuff up in books; encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlas', almanac's, etc. So I want to ensure that my son and other young family members know how to look stuff up!

I bought the book form of the encyclopedia, with the intention of my children knowing how to research long hand, just in case power is out and a paper is due and they are in a time crunch.

They still have the full printed edition. I believe the cost is close to $1800.00 now though for the full set of Encyclopedia Britanica. They also offer financing now. Sometimes they have a kiosk set up in the mall. If you sign up to win a free set they will call on you and make the sales pitch.

i don't know if they still buy books i use cd.
