This question is like "what comes first, the Chicken or the Egg?" Scripture says, "the earth was without form and void." If the earth was without form and void the Chicken had to be made first to produce the Egg. Therefore, there had to be a mother and a father before a son could be made.

Where did the word bastard come from? It means fatherless child and I am using it in context for all those who wish to report something... anyhow, nowadays anything is possible. Scientists are learning how to make it possible for barren women to concieve. They use eggs from another woman or sperm from another man - does that mean the donor is going to come around a play a significant role in that child's life? Doubtful. I feel that the role of father or mother can be placed on anybody and there does NOT have to be anything biological about it. If you are refering to Jesus, well, God created man and woman from dust. He is the creator and can pretty much do as he pleases. If he chose to put the life of his son, a spirit creature into a human woman then he can and did. The bible also tells of angels being able to turn into humans in the time's before Noah's day. Spirit creatures are diferent from humans.
Anyhow I guess the base question is what is the definition of father or mother....is it biological? or is it something a little more like whoever was involved in the raising of a child?

No. It's a logical and mathematically correct answer. A son has a mom and a dad, somewhere, somehow.
