According to your Bible I am to believe that human kind is sinful for Adam and Eve ate the fruit of knowledge. Why are we being punished for the original sin? After all, they ate the forbidden fruit, we didn’t. Reason would lead one to say it’s their problem, not ours. Even the bible contradicts itself by claiming in Deuteronomy 24:16, “children shall not be punished for the sins of their fathers.”

Dear Skeptic, i would like to ask you a question to answer your question.

Do you consider yourself to be a good person?

Have you ever lied (even once--fibs, white lies, etc.)? Ever stolen (anything--the value is irrelevant)? Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart." Have you ever looked with lust? If you have said "Yes" to these three questions, by your own admission, you are a lying, thieving, adulterer at heart; Have you ever hated someone? the BIBle says "he who hates his brother is a Murderer." the BIble says sin is transgression of the law, adam and eve broke the law (ten Commandments) and you have broken the law if you have done the above. the BIble says God has given you a Concscience, Conscience means with knowledge. when you lied you knew it was wrong and the same with stealing and lusting. the BIble says on Judgement day you will be without excuse. The BIble also says that the punishemt for your sin when you face God will be Death and Hell. but thers great news, God has done something to allow you to be forgiven. He sent His Son to take our punishment: "God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." He was bruised for our iniquities. Jesus then rose from the dead and defeated death.
Your own so-called “goodness” can’t get you into heaven any more than mine could. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. He is the "Door," the only "mediator." There is salvation in no other name, so repent (turn from sin) and put your full faith and trust in Jesus as lord and savior, if you will do this God will forgive you and grant you the gift of eternal life. I hope this helped.
God Bless

We are not being punished. When Adam and Eve eat the fruit it brought man in to a state of sin. Being in the state of sin means that we have the desire to sin, that the flesh now wants to sin and we will sin. If we don't find good standing with God we will die in this state of sin and THEN be punished. The whole point of Jesus dieing on the cross was so that His Holy blood would cover our state of sin so that God the Father would see us as sinless. Being in a state of sin is differant from sinning.

Adam and Eve were the progenitors of all mankind. When Adam sinned all the seed within him would be born in sin therefore sin nature was born into each and every person to this day.

Fast forward to Jesus~ this is why Jesus was not born of man. He was born of the Spirit. If he had been born from a man's seed then He too would have had the sinful nature in him and His coming to save God's creation in vain.

*notice that God didnt do anything to Eve when she sinned. it was when Adam sinned that God stepped onto the scene and asked what happened. Adam had the keys to the world but by doubting God he handed them over to satan to which all this chaos has come.

Thank God for Jesus!

Deuteronomy 24:16, “children shall not be punished for the sins of their fathers.” the bible does say that, in whole it says "The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin." Satan thougth that he could be a better ruler than God. Job 1:6-15 says how Satan said that the only reason why we served God was because, God gaves us everything. if you continue reading Job, you'll see that Job was faithful. But now the critique that Satan made is upon us. God is giving time, for Satan to defend himself. But as you may know we have seen that Satan is a bad ruler, and many of us love God and obey Him because we Love Him. not because God gives everything essential to live. that is why we are like this, but we are not been punish. Job 34:10.

If you are punished, it won't be for the sins of your father, or grandfather, or great-grandfather. If you can honestly say that you've never sinned, then you won't be punished.

The Bible does not contradict itself in Deut 24:16, because Romans accurately states "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

You won't be punished for Adams sin.But just a he was pron to sin so are we.Do you sin?I have and will.Isn't it wonderful that we all have a Savior like Jesus. At that time poor Adam didn't,all he had was the promise of one to come.He had to believe in a promise not yet revealed to be saved. We at least know that God has for filled His Promise to Adam and whosoever will. And if he hadn't eaten the apple I would have.

My friend, you are not thinking. You've missed the connection. Now what happened was Adam and Eve were not just people. They were not our forefathers, they WERE man and woman. They were God's image, the example of what all men would be. And they sinned. So we are guilty of sin.

Ok, that passage you took out of the bible is out of context, so I'll just disregard that entirely. It's true about Adam and Eve, it sucks, and it isn't fair, but it's reality, and that's the point in Jesus. To free us of what we unfairly got stuck with. When a parent makes a bad decision that affects their child, is it fair? No, but it's reality.

check out genesis 3:27 - they are given temporary forgiveness,

most christians dont know this, they argue the point even,

the verse says tunics of skin,

its used three times in the bible in the old testement to mean purify, ie - forgive,

its interesting cause gods way is the shedding of innocent blood - so, the mythology of adam and eve is they are forgiven,

by gods way
