Casually tell him a (made up) story about a guy you passed by (on the bus, in the halls, etc.) who had horrible BO. Say something like, "he probably doesn't know that people can smell that, but it's really offputting. I mean, I like spicy food and onions as much as the next guy, but whooooo... this guy needed to wear some deodorant!"

You can introduce the idea as a form of gossip. That way you can talk *about* what he's doing, but in a way that's sensitive to his feelings. Plus, people love to share gossip & it's a great way to define your group by being the opposite of those you ridicule (like the imaginary guy you're going to gossip about).

Good luck!

If this is an actual question, and not just racist crap, I'd say the person who suggested talking to the teacher is right. Some people (of ANY "race") don't realize they have bo, and need someone to politely suggest better hygiene. In no way should he be made to feel bad.

you just learn to deal with it. Not much you can do or say, except keep a distance, but dont ignore the poor guy. You could start a conversation with someone in your group about cologne and maybe he'll pick up on it.

Now that the work places the world over are becoming diverse and crowded , such problems ( body odor, bad breath, over-use of perfumes) are becoming serious.
If he is a co-worker , you do not have any right to say anything. This is a problem your professor/group leader should address.

tell him about this new smell from axe and ask him if he's smelled it? (or something round about that wont hurt feelings but maybe he'll get the idea),,,,,,,i dont think it is a cultural thing, I know lots of Indians that dont smell bad, they shower and smell fine.

Are you in College? (I'm assuming) You should bring it up in a discreet way to the lab teacher or school nurse. Let the ball be in their court.

dont say anything. talk about perfume and cologne if you want to sorta give hints. but honestly that wont work. try not showering for a few weeks. and tell him that you havent. actually, i dont really see how this would help. but you WOUld be driving him crazy, which could be fun...

It is this stuff they use in their mouths kind of like idiot American boys use snuff. It is called curry. Saying something will have no effect so just plug you nose. I worked with a bunch of Indians and they all had that horrible breath and could care less what the rest of us thought about it.
