Prayudh Payutto is a Buddhist monk in Thailand. He wrote a 1,000 page book entitled "Buddhadhamma", which is currently being translated into English, that deals with Buddhism in the modern world. He is considered Thailand's foremost Buddhist scholar and has "an extraordinarily profound grasp on Buddha's teachings".

Sulak Sivaraksa is a social activist from Bangkok. He is concerned with bringing peace to others and approaches conflict with a nonviolent solution, such as originally brought to global attention by Mohatmas Ghandi. He is, essentially, the beginnings of the Buddhist perspective of global problem solving since no such perspective currently exists.
