Is it correct that there are 4 time zones in the States? If it's 9:55 p.m., October 17 th in NYC, what time is it now in Texas? Thanks for your help.

I agree with the 1 hr difference. Your phone book should have a page that shows the break in the time zones, Pacific (west), Mountain, Central and Eastern.

But since some states have daylight savings time and some don't the best site I've found for instant time zone info is this site:
http://www.time.gov/

just click on the area (NY or TX) and it'll tell you the local time.

No Panama is not a state of the United State but there was a military base there and since his father was in the Navy that is probably where he was born. I don't know and am not really curious. If a pregnant American was traveling in a different country and the she gave birth in say, Israel would that make the baby Israeli? Why do you think he is lying about something that is obviously easy to research? Don't be so literal, yes military bases outside of the US are on foreign "soil" but they are US installations.

do you mean the continental US?

NYC is only 1 hour ahead of TX.
So when it is 9:55pm in NY, it's 8:55pm in TX
