There have been problems between my mother, stepfather and I for two years now, when I came out of the closet. Being my mother's only child, and the extremely young age that I came out at, it was brought on with hostility. Since all of that happened, I've ran away twice, been in a Behavioral Health Center, self-mutilated and currently have been for a year and a half, medicated for manic depression. When I got out of BHU I lived with my grandparents, but I left, because I lost my virginity and they threatened to turn the guy in because it was statutory rape, and I didn't like that. I can't go back there now, because my uncle lives there and he's homophobic. So here's the problem. I can't live with my parents because of how they treat me, but I have no where to go. If I run away, the cops will get called on me. I'd only get kicked out if I dropped out of school, but then I have no where to go.

Wow, I'm surprised and also very appreciative of all of the answers so far. I understand all of your different viewpoints, thank you all and I'll try my hardest to use your advice. If my age helps, I'm 15.

Wow! You have a lot going on at such a young age. I have to wonder this though, are you self-mutilating and running away and being treated for manic depression because of the behavior of your parents or because of the fact you think you are gay? I'm willing to bet it's the gay part. I do believe people can be born with the tendency to be gay but I believe with all my heart it is just put in your life to be the temptation you overcome through God. All of us have something, the alcoholic craves alcohol, the druggie craves drugs, the lustful man or woman craves sex. We all have our own "demon" to ovecome. I believe that is true for those who think they are gay. You must overcome this urge. Pray and ask God to help you. He will help you. If you have no where to go find a good local church. Ask them for help. If they are a Bible-based church they will not turn you away.

Sweetie, I feel for you at the deepest levels of my heart. I lost my best friend at the age of 21 from AIDS brought on by his homosexuality. He grew up in the church, he knew it was wrong and he chose it any way. It cost him his life. Please find help. Reach out to God. He is already reaching out to you.

You are in my prayers! God bless & keep you!

stick it out. i know it seems like forever but nothing last forever. i would go live with my parents if i were you. alot of the time people treat you a certain way because of the way you act. it sounds as though you still have some growing up to do and your parents are the best ones to help you along in good times and bad. you might try to get professional help, you and your family

this may not seem fair but here is the only idea I could come up with at a moments notice... give up dating and all that until you reach legal age and have finished school... keep a low profile and study and do good in school so when the time comes you will have a good education... think about the future and what YOU want out of it and go for it........ God bless

Oh, I'm soo sorry you're in this situation. Maybe you can talk to some friends or a few counselors who give you help/info on where you can stay because you don't deserve to stay in an hostile environment. And don't cause yourself any harm (i.e. self-mutilation) because your family disapproves, you must love and cherish yourself! Take Care

Sweat Heart you would do much better if you can hang out until you are legal age . It seems like forever but if you can look towards the light at the end of the tunnel you'll make it okay at home , don't fight with your parents . Just bide your time .

First, ignore Pamela V's reply. There is no reason you need to change your sexuality just because of a silly thing like that. You are who you are, and you don't need to change for anyone. Not even god.
Are there any other family members or close friends you could stay with for a while....? Where are you now?

The only thing that I can say is your family should be in your life no matter what and please stay in school. Try everything to make ammends with your family or later in life you will regret it. Blood is thicker than water. And you NEED your education.
