symptoms are bloody stool, vomiting. Parvo is a disease that attacks the intestinal tract, a dog has a 50/50 chance at surviving if he can make it thru the first 3 days then he should be fine, it is usually a waiting game. Keep in mind parvo is passed thru fluids and stool not thru the air. Get him/her to a vet ASAP!!

I had a pit bull puppy that had parvo and she was fine and playful one day and by the next morning she was almost dead she had threw up all over her cage and had a very foul odor to her bowel movements, i had no idea what was wrong with her and i rushed her to the vet, the vet did the test for parvo and it was positive, so he gave me an opition of saving her or putting her down and it wasnt a 100% that she would survive if he gave her the meds for it so we put it in the vets hands and decided to try and save her, so he gave her like six shots in the belly of some kind of meds and gave me some meds to take home thank goodness that she lived but was very unhealthy for about a year later and then she got what was a sister to parvo and it killed her so i would advise anyone and everyone to Vaccinate you pets as early as possiable to save their lives

The link above (lilbit88) tells what the vet will do for your dog. There is a good chance for survival if your dog is treated for Parvo, but a slim chance of survival if kept home with no IV fluids..

The majority of dogs presented with parvovirus show signs of fever, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, and lack of appetite. In severe cases the diarrhea is very watery and frequently bloody, with a telltale odor. They are very ill, with significant abdominal pain. The virus is so strong that it literally causes the lining of the intestines to slough. It is painful to eat, and with the severe diarrhea and vomiting that is present, they rapidly become dehydrated. The also have a disruption in their electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chlorine) that adds to the weakness.
There is a complication that can occur from all the intestinal activity regarding vomiting and diarrhea. It is called an intussusception, which is literally a telescoping of the intestine into itself. This will cause the intestine to die, resulting in death of the pup. Treatment is surgical, unfortunately, these pups are in no shape for surgery. Luckily we do not encounter this very often, if at all.
In the peracute form of this disease the virus attacks the heart and causes rapid death. Fortunately, it is rare to encounter this nowadays.
Get your dog to the vet!!!

The most noticeable symptom is foul smelling feces. We're not talking "smelly poop"..the feces of a puppy with parvo is fouler than anything you've smelled. It depends on how advanced the parvo is, how old the dog is, and how it's treated as to when/if it will die.

Ours died in a weekend. It is awful. They will not eat, they have the runs but are too weak to get up to go to the bathroom. They just lay there. Too weak to move. We went through towels and 3 gallons of bleach. Fortunately, we had a good size dog cage so she was a comfortable as she could be. Subsequently, we got this dog from the humane society on a Friday and she died Monday morning.

Lethargic, depressed, won't eat or drink, bloody or dark brown diarrhea with a terrible stench, throwing up.
Death can occur 48 - 72 hours after seeing symptoms.
Sometimes a pup will make it through Parvo, only to succumb to an infection and die because of their ravaged digestive tract.

Runny stool, stumbling, standing over water but not drinking, staggering around. It is a horrible death if you can not afford to treat the dog, you should have it put down.
