Most people believe that their religion started some 6000 years ago in the garden of Eden. But as we know not all religions are the TRUE one. Jesus said that you would know his followers if they have love among themselves, and also by their fruits. Look at all the different religions and see which one has love and which one is doing the will of God.

I believe that the first religion was that of the indigenous people of the world. Evolution did its thang, the human mind developed, and because there was very little explanation for natural events, the people created explanations for these events. These explanations included powerful beings... I mean... what else could explain water falling from the sky? :) These beliefs and traditions were passed down orally from generation to generation. 'least, thats how I see it.

Theism.

Originally God told His people what to do and they were to obey, but not even Adam and Eve could od this, and then their own son, Cain, killed his brother, Abel.

The first false religion was probably a form of occultism, the belief in or study of the action or influence of supernatural or supernormal powers. Eve ate the forbidden fruit hoping to gain wisdom (a supernatural thing to her).

The first "religion" was the worship of the Almighty, the Creator. When did it start? Probably a few seconds after Adam was created!!

Islam. It started with Adam, the first human being on earth.

Many messengers were sent after him to spread the teachings of Islam -- each with their own unique approach (but unified in their teaching of the oneness of God). The last messenger to come was Muhammad (pbuh) who completed the religion (with rules and complete way to live).

Venus of Willendorf from Lower Austria is one of the most ancient symbols of faith. It is from 30,000-20-000 B.C. It was found almost all over Europe and back, but nobody really knows what faith it represents.

The Mesopotamian gods are considered the first systematic polytheistic religion from about 3,000 B.C. to 2350 B.C.
