I enter my home threw my kitchen.I would like it to work as soon as I walk threw my door where my ceiling light is.of course i don't need this in the day time.I only need it to operate during night time

Usually you have a control of the motion sensor where you can arm and disarm when you want it on you ARrm when Not you Disarm. I'm not sure you canput into the actually light fixture but you'd have to install separate.Go to Home Depot or Lowe's where you can buy individual vs the whole system, Motion Sensor with Control and they'll also advise how,where you can install

I've seen motion sensor wall switches before, we had them at a hospital I worked at. It would be better to find something like that then trying to install something in the ceiling.

You need a motion switch with a light sensor so it will only activate when it is dark.

get a timer to turn off the sensor power during the day and have it set to turn on during the night.
