No offense but I believe that your mother is misinformed. If you're using the pro-active properly, then you are washing your face everyday. As far as the bad food goes, no link between food and acne has been established in all certainty.
Tell your mother that the acne has become a big part of your life and you're becoming very discouraged by it. The dermatologist can prescribe Accutane which usually clears most acne right up.
If she says no, keep harping her. She'll cave. :)
In the mean time, try to eat better ( although I can't say much, I'm addicted to cheese puffs), and remind your mother that the acne bothers you.

First of all, your skin can take up to 60 days to completely regenerate, so one month is not long enough to tell if a new product is really working or not.
Some people have good results with ProActiv, some don't.
I know 2 people who were using ProActiv and then switched to our Clear Advantage and are much happier. THe set also comes with a skin support supplement so you are attacking the problem from the inside as well as the outside. The set costs the same as ProActive when you get it at wholesale but lasts twice as long.
So, my advice, stick it out for another month. If you don't see a change at that point, then feel free to check out this website. I'll let you use my discount (I make nothing off of that).

Hydration is the key. Drink plenty of water. Keep your hands out of your face. The oils from your bod yand everything else you touch gets on your face causing breakouts. The food thing is a myth. Make sure you are washing your face twice a day. Once in the morning and at night. Don't pick at your blackheads, whiteheads or pimples. They leave scars I know I'm experiencing it. Make sure you are using Proactive the way it is suggested. Skipping steps and not doing it as directed won't help you out. If you are doing everything right I hear acne treatments with Salicylic Acid is doing wonders for people'skin who might be allergic to Benzyl Peroxide. Good luck.

Your diet does hav an affect on the way ur skin is. If u arent gettin enuff vitamins your skin can break out. Other factors can include too much caffeine, medication, touching ur face, neglect- not washing ur face, especially wen removing makeup...etc
I personaly wouldnt use Proactiv...it dries ur skin out and causes more oil (sebum) to be produced, therefor causes more pimples. I would go to a beauty therapist and seek some professional advice. I hav been using Dermalogica for 5 months, and my skin has never looked better. U can start off with a trial size pack, and see if its the right product for u. Remember to moisturize...even if u hav oily skin, cos it puts back the lost moisture in your skin after cleansing, and helps prevent an overflow of oil..
Hope this helps...Good luck:)

Don't worry, most of us go thru that when growing up.
I have a great solution if you're willing to try it. Before going to bed, wash and rinse your face well, then with a small piece of cotton, carefully apply a little of your own urine to the affected areas. Do this on a nightly basis and you'll see your acne clear up in a short time. It's not disgusting 'cause it's your own pee and it really works!
PS: Don't forget to wash your face again in the morning.

my sister had that problem and she stopped eating greasy foods and pop and started washing her face twice a day and it cleared up. i am surprised becuase i love proactiv anyways they do recommend to wash your face twice a day for severe cases make sure you use the toner and lotion. use the refining mask at least once a week too that works good. one more thing if you put hair products in your hair don't touch your hair and then your face. use clean rags every time you wash or dry your face becuase using the same rag that builds up bacteria

here is my advice, get an air compressor, and a power air sander and use it on your face. If that scares you then don't Do it. Go to the dermatologist. You have to measure out if your pride is worth keeping the acne. Good luck.

Proactive doesn't work for everyone it work for me but one of my friends used it about a month or two and it didn't work for her. so maybe its just not for you.If you wear your hair down when you sleep then try putting it up, because if your hair touches your face then the oil from your hair will get on your face and create acne. That's just what I've heard anyway.

Food really doesnt have any effect.
Do you wash your face?
Try keeping your sheets clean and your hair out of your face. Drinking water helps too.
If its still bad, ask her.
