It just feels like life is nothing more than a rat race. Slave away to earn your measly pay so we can pay the stupid bills. Then, if you are "lucky" enough, put in your 30 years so that you can collect some stupid pension after which you die.

Read the book "class" by Paul Fusell, it puts everything in perspective, and talks about opting out of the rat race, and it has a great sense of humour, I think they have it possibly on Amazon

Sorry to hear of your woes. We've all got to render unto Caesar unfortunately, but that measly detail aside, it's what is happening inside your head that makes the difference. I assure you, that while I render appropriate service every day in order to earn my paypacket, they get nothing more from me! Certainly not my soul and my self-esteem. When I think that each irreplacable hour of my life spent at work, has a fixed salary amount attached to it , I'm not inclined to give them my offduty hours, my sense of optimism and fun. Sounds as if you've lost yours, for which I am truly sorry. You need to live outside the job!

Man-. I thought I was the only one who felt that way. I totally agree. Which is why I believe we have to have fun in life, rather than just work and pay bills.

It's not about the destination, its all about the journey... at least that is what I am told. Right now I feel like I am at a road block in life, no matter what direction I face. It's frustrating!

Yes that is all true but you have to look at the positive things in life: Your family, friends and interests that is what keeps us going not our measily paycheck!
