I have a very affectionate, sweet, and docile cat. She lets us pick her up, and loves to have us blow air at her face. The one thing that she won't let us do, however, is kiss her! Is this a dominance thing, is this symptomoatic of an early-life bad kiss, or is she just crazy?

Some katz just don't like the human face close to theirs. In their world, it's one way of kat kommunication and identification. Six of mine will rub their faces against mine, the other will let me scratch his neck, but that's as close to his face as he will let me. She may not like your toothpaste, perfume, soap or something, or she just may not like having your face so close to hers. Don't take it personally.

My cat Leo doesn't like kisses. He put his paws up on my face and pushes me away. I think it's so funny when he does that but he lets me hold him and pet him and everything else. I guess they just don't like it. I got another cat Mr. Fuzzy that doesn't mind kisses. He even gives them back to you.

Don't put your lips on the animal to begin with, I know they "clean" themselves but they are cleaning themselves with cat spit.
