No, its not a sin unless its misused. Hypnosis can increase the suggestability of the subject, IE, make them more prone to commands or "suggestions". Now, were the hypnotist to convince the person to do something evil through some means (and this is NOT easily done..) it definitely would be a sin. It could come under the category of lying, stealing, etc. Were hynosis itself a sin, TV "faith healers" who go under the umbrella of some powerful religious leaders (Benny Hinn, et al) are in deep do-do ;-)

Hypnosis isn't mentioned in the Bible. Someone could construct an argument against it based upon it's similarity to the trances that pagan sorcerers use but that would be a sketchy argument at best. If a medical doctor is using a scientific technique to help heal a person that's a far cry from someone trying to contact demonic spirits. On the other hand, if some so called psychic is using hypnosis then it becomes a whole other ball game but it wouldn't be the hypnosis that was a sin, it would be the ends that it was being used to achieve that would be sinful.

i am assuming not because hypnosis is not magic. However, it is tricking someone into trusting you totally.
Scientifically(Yes, God invented science), hypnosis is a state of VERY VERY VERY deep trust. i mean VERY VERY deep.
A hypnotist basically tricks the person into trusting him. the person wtill has free will but it is diminished by the bond of trust. Therefeore , making someone trust you without his or her consent is wrong.
However, stage hypnotists twho ask for permission before the hypnotizing are not committing any sin.
hope this helps.

I know it's not one of the Top 10 that Moses brought down on a tablet.
I see nothing morally wrong with it itself, though I suppose it could be abused.

If not, it should be. Jesus was never hypnotized. We shouldn't be either.
