But he was a mortal with a mission, a chosen prophet of God, with God given miracles and a message from the almighty, to guide people when they have sinned, to teach the jews that their religion was taken apart and they had lost so much of their original guidance by Moses they needed another reminder.
Whats wrong with thinking that?

7th son, why on earth do you need someone to intercede with your sins to God, isnt He the one who created you naked? Isnt it your right as a free man with a brain to be able to ask forgiveness from Him without a medium in between...come on man...

Jeff C: the way I see it, if I was a person with no conciense Id take the opportunity to wait for Jesus to save me while I committed horrendeous crimes.. According to your logic he did it once, am sure hell do it again...and this ofcourse overrides any hope that I wud repent cause all my sins are forgiven already.

There is nothing wrong with thinking that. Interestingly, many of the early Christians thought the same thing (the Ebionite Christians in particular). These groups however eventually lost the wars over orthodoxy and were subsequently branded heretical.
The fact that there are so many differences, contradictions, and different versions of the same stories throughout the Bible that it is easy to see the developing tradition about Jesus at work. It is likely that his legend grew long after his death to end up at the high Christology that we find in the gospel of John (one of the later books in the N.T.).
Many scholars think exactly what you write in your additional comment section and there is plenty of evidence to back up their assertions. Many more people than you know think precisely as you do. You are using your head and logic - a nice combination.

Jesus was sent by His Father as the second Member of the Trinity to take our place on the cross and die for US....even though NONE of us deserved it! He alone is the reason we can abolish the laws of the Old Testament and receive Him into our hearts and ask Him for forgiveness. And become a child of God.
Just imagine you're in front of a judge in a court of law and they have fined you say, $10,000 for breaking a law of some kind.Just as the judge was to give out his sentence, a total stranger steps in and pays your fine. This is what Christ did for ALL of us.Paid our fine IN FULL and EVERY sin was forgiven AND forgotten. He could have easily come down off the cross but he DIDN'T because he loves US.He died for US. All you have to do is receive the free gift of Salvation, repent and live for Him. It really IS that simple.
Enise:
Wait for the oppotunity for Him to save you? The opportunity is ALWAYS there, has been for 2,000 years. It's up to each individual to ACCEPT Him or Reject Him. BTW...We ALL were born with a conscience, it's what God instilled in us to determine right from wrong. Also, EVERYONE sins and God places NO degree on sins. A white lie is the same as a murder. Once one becomes born again, you won't stop sinning. you'll just sin much less often. You will FALL into sin whereas before being saved you DOVE into sin. And after a Christian happens to sin, he/she is to acknowledge it and ask God for forgiveness for it. He won't just forgive you one time.

God created Adam and Eve with great dignity, and to be his very own.
If mankind was to be redeemed by anyone other than God, than mankind would be rightly obligated to someone who was not God, and whom the angels did not serve.
This would result in the permanent loss of the dignity God always intended for man, and would be nothing more than a false redemption, a state of existence not much different than what man experienced in his original fall from grace, under Satan.
According to God's eternal plan, the only one qualified to redeem mankind was Jesus, who is God.
St. Peter is clear about it, in his epistle, in which he calls Jesus "the lamb slain before the foundations of the world."
As the redeemer had to be sinless by nature, the nature of original sin also rules out the possibility of any other redeemer.
No man other than Jesus could be born without the stain of original sin.

That is a start. What you need to realize is that along with all of that, He was also the literal Son of God. Only with the powers of God in HIm could He accomplish His divine mission here on earth, to atone for all of our sins and transgressions so that we can become clean through repentance, in order to return to our Father in Heaven's presence. As a mortal, He could not have fulfilled His mission. So if you want to start by believing in His teachings, then you can continue by understanding His mission and realize that He was indeed divine and that His sacrifice for us was also divinely appointed.
Jesus is the Christ, the Savior of mankind. He made redemption and salvation possible for all of us. There is life after mortality and He is the key to our realizing the fulfillment of our eternal potential.

John 1:1-3, 14 tells us why that is wrong. It says (1-3), "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." 14 says, "And thw Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory,,, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." These verses trace Jesus from being with God and being God (the Son) Himself to Him coming to earth as a human to live among us and die for us. And, AveGirl, you'll notice that so far I'm like the only one to use specific quoted Bible verses.

A mere mortal couldn't pay the penalty for your sins, and then defeat death and Satan.
A mere mortal could not live the sinless life that Christ did. It was a mere mortal that caused the fall of man in the first place.
Either Jesus is who He said He is, or He's a liar or a lunatic. Instead, He is who He said He is, and is therefore Lord.

Because He wasn't, so you would be thinking the wrong thing. There were many people listed in the New Testament who specifically said to Him "You are the Christ" or "Truly You are the Son of God". Even the Ceaser of that day could find no wrong in Him.
No hon, He wasn't just a man, He was the Son of God, come for the lost like me.

Well, among other things, it would be hard to believe Jesus' teachings if we had to throw out his words about being the Son of Man and rising.
If Jesus was a mere mortal, then we would have no hope for no one has ever kept the Law. It would still weigh us down with its unfulfillable demands.
If Jesus is not God, then who shall intercede with us before God for our sins.
If Jesus is God then He can and shall return to take us unto himself forever.

that is wrong becuase it is not true. Jesus sits at the right hand of God the father, after the resurrection Jesus' name was exalted above everyother name. He is king of kings and lord of lords. Jesus is more than a prophet, he is the chosen one, the messiah, the son of god>

those are the styles of themes religious human beings could waste their time arguing. it quite is a pointless waste of psychological capability. for the reason that i'm an atheist, i don't could desire to think of approximately those issues because of the fact i don't even believe in them interior the 1st case. it could be like me saying "Do you think of the coyote ought to ever seize the roadrunner? Do you think of if he used products from a organization different than ACME, he could have greater success? or maybe he needs to hire some experts to help him create a distinctive approach for roadrunner looking." See what I advise? pointless and meaningless drivel. I additionally like whilst the guy says, "All of those human beings you communicate approximately in different countries WILL pay attention approximately Jesus in in some unspecified time interior the destiny of their lifetime, then it quite is going to be their determination the comparable because it quite is ours to settle for him or deny him." that's yet another explanation why i won't stand religious human beings. they are so optimistic what they believe is right and another faith is fake. What an smug and slender way of questioning, yet i don't probable anticipate something greater from the religious.
