First, use a towel with plain warm water or a small face sponge wet with warm water and Gently scrub face to get rid of things on skin surface but also gently to avoid causing irritation or redness at the same time. Second, When you use your facial cleanser (which you should be using instead of soap for a much clearer complexion), begin with warm water (opens pores to be cleansed) and switch to cold water to finish rinsing and close the pores. You should also follow with a facial moisturizer, preferably the same brand as your cleanser cream or astringent. This works for me, but if you have tried this too and it doesn't help--try buying yourself a Microdermabrasion Kit or see if you can buy just the facial unit/appliance with pore refiner attachments if you may not want the whole kit.

Tips to Remove blackheads

When the pores close with the sebum content on the surface and bulge out, it is a whitehead and if the oil gets rusted due to the opened pores you will notice a black colored swelling which is called as blackhead. For non-inflammatory kind of acne, just a few blackheads or whiteheads will appear on the skin crust. They are simple in nature and do not require a physician’s prescription. If you come across blackheads you can use Retin-A, which is an effective remedy. Majority of the people face this problem.

You can find blackheads on your nose, chin or forehead. Removing a blackhead is a difficult task and its frustrating.Given below are a few tips to remove blackheads:·

Do not use harsh soaps or lotions, which could the face oily.

Use cleansers and try to keep the skin less oily.

Try to keep the dead cells away from the skin, by cleaning your face.

Do not squeeze the blackheads. Too much squeezing could damage the skin and make the pores large.

Applying warm water on the face and gently putting pressure with a little cotton could clear the clogs.

You can use “blackhead strips” which are available in the markets. These strips only remove the upper portion on the blackheads and not its root.

There are many products that are avail at chemists and supermarkets that proclaim that they help with these problems...but the truth is that they contain mainly water, and are not strong enough to combat your condition. Large open pores are hard to treat, however there are some professional products that can help minimize and prevent forming blackeads. I recommend seeing a beauty therapist...and getting some professional advice. They can tell u alot of information and suggest some treatments that will help u. I have been using Dermalogica for about 5 months, and my skin has never looked better. I urge u to get a trial pack for your skin type, and see if it works for you. It can b a lil costly, but u only need the basics to begin with: cleanser, toner, exfoliator, moisturizer and possibly a mask. All of these are included in the kit...so giv it a try...think about it...its cheaper then buying a whole lot of products over and over agian, cos nothing seems to work. Good luck :)!!

Unfortunately, actual pore size is something we can't control. It is part genetics and part environment.

What you CAN do is minimize the look of large pores. Use a light moisturizer, use a clay based mask at least twice a week, and exfoliate well morning and night with a scrub for sensitive skin. Using products with glycolic acid can also help minimize blackheads by helping to unstick the "glue" your body forms in your pores (dead skin, body oils, dirt, pollution).

I've been using Biore pore minimizing face wash, (it's clear and has blue and green beads in it). It makes your pores look smaller. There really is nothing you can do to actually make them shrink. For blackheads the cheapest way is the steam like everyone else says, but if that doesn't work try the Biore products made for blackheads. If you find anything better please let me know.

There are cleanser services that work for severe pores. Solutions
like bare essentials, or neutrogena are good. Good solution plans have
lotion made in stages say 4 or 5 and a plan to stay on for eventual quality.

i have the same problem. here's what i do: steam my face so the pores open up, use an extractor to clean out the pores (they sell them at beauty supply stores. this will hurt, but it sqeezes all the gunk out of the pores), apply a clay masque and let it dry, rinse off with cold water, and viola, beautiful skin!

Have you tried Proactive? It is available in stores now, and does work.

Also, Pond's Cold Cream really works too. Even if you are oily. Follow the directions.

The best you can do its a microdermabrasion or a chemical peel treatment at professional spas or skin care salons. You need to do couple of treatments, they are not cheep, but its the only way to change completely your skin.

hmm if nothing works you should ask a doctor

or you can steam your face over boiling water with a towel over your head for 10-15 min and squeeze them out
