Considered remote by most, it has many thousands of miles of shoreline and more landmasses surrounded by water than the current population of over 60% of the recognized towns in the U.S. State of Texas.

i was gonna say cyprus (rhodes) but i was confused by the thousands of miles of shoreline and more land masses surrounded by water...remote huh im guessing it is and archipelago somewhere in the south pacific...i guess i dont understand how you worded clue #2 are we supposed to add together the populations of these towns and thats the number of landmasses (atolls,islands and such)? aha the key is sportmans mystical spot, teauhpo,tahiti ,legendary waves

St Martin is first to come to mind but it is not that large so not sure this is it. Shared by Dutch & French.

I not very sure. I think it is Virgin Islands.
