Yes, it does.
However, it's quite the pretty penny.

Well....for the most part it does, indeed, work to permanently remove hair. However....some hairs are really stubborn and just refuse to die. But over time, most hair can be removed by the right laser application.
A few thoughts for you :)
1. There are now several types of lasers and they've improved greatly over the past few years, so ensure that you're getting state of the art equipment and an experienced technician!
2. Laser hair removal often takes 4-6 (sometimes more) applications to effectively treat any given area.
3. It's quite expensive!
4. If cost is an issue, you can get virtually the same results with a high quality electrolysis treatment and it will cost a LOT less, with very little discomfort, unlike what many people believe.
Good luck and hope that helps at least a bit...
Cheers :)

LASER Hair Removal
There are number of hair removalprocedures available to people these days, but very few are aware of the procedure of choice for them. Among Tweezers, Shaving, Depilatories, Waxing, Hair Inhibitors, Threading, Laser hair removal, Sugaring and Electrolysis, which suits whom the best is anyone’s guess. Although one thing is common for all; everyone wants a method, which promises permanent hair removal, and LASER is the only exclusive procedure.
Inspite of the fact that LASER hair removal is becoming well accepted by all, its results vary with individuals and may not suit few. Thus it is very essential that one must always go through these points before opting for LASER hair removal method.
LASER hair removal may be best suited for those who have dark hair on light skin, but before you rule yourself out as a candidate for this procedure, it is advisable to consult your dermatologist. Also collect as much relevant information regarding the procedure, either from the manufacturers or from their websites. Alternatives are always present, if you have light color hair, it is better to undergo artificial hair darkening which can be succeeded by LASER.
A consultation with your dermatologist is very vital. Meeting the technician and asking him to perform a test pulse is recommended. Since LASER hair removal technique is highly specific to skin and hair types, it is always desirable to seek a clinic which suits your needs and which has a friendly and informative staff that can keep you comfortable during your visits.
6 weeks prior to the LASER hair removal procedure, waxing and using tweezers or any other procedure by which hair are removed from the follicles, should be avoided. LASER hair removal is essentially a painless procedure, and even if little pain is felt, it is bearable. Only when the pain is unbearable, should you inform your technician so that he can provide you with numbing creams. Also, the feedback that you provide, will help the technician to regulate the LASER intensity for future use.
Even though LASER hair removal is a long term permanent hair removal method, yet it is related with few complications such as re growth of the hair.

You can carry out laser hair removal treatments at home using a DIY laser kit called the Rio. It uses a safe 808nm diverging laser, but only works on pale skin.

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are “permanent” hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

Yes. Sort of.
I have a friend who had to have some resistant spots done over several times before it became permanent. Of course you have to pay to have it done over.

You have to go for repeated visits but eventually it stop hair growth (or slows it). I think each session is $200, maybe less depending on how much area you want to zap.
